Windows 7 Extended Security Updates (ESUs)

Windows 7 Extended Security Updates (ESUs) will be available via the Cloud Solution Partner (CSP) program beginning Monday, December 2, 2019, said Microsoft.

ESUs can be purchased through the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program, which is available. Here are the key features you should know:

  • Windows 7 ESUs are sold on a per-device basis
  • They are available for purchase in 12-month increments only. They are not available for three months or six months
  • The price will increase each year

The security updates can be purchased via the Cloud Solution Partner (CSP) program. Based on your address, several computers, you can search for a CSP using the MSP link.

TIP: Verify if your Windows 7 can get Extended Security Updates.

Are you a CSP Partner?

If you are a CSP partner or want to know how the updates will be available for Windows 7 users, Microsoft has provided clear details. A CSP can purchase Windows 7 ESUs on behalf of your customers, and they are activated through the MAK keys.

CSP Client List for ESUS

Once the order is complete, you will see the MAK kets appear in the Partner Center. It may take an hour for them appear. If you are a CSP partner purchasing Windows 7 ESUs on behalf of multiple customers will be able to see the full list of customers within Partner Center. If you are an indirect reseller or end customer, you will see them in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

Microsoft strategy is useful in a way that it gives ample time for Businesses to move to Windows 10 by supporting them for a bit longer, but at a price. The price will keep increasing, which will ultimately force them to move to Windows 10. This offer is available for three years, after which Windows 7 support will come to a permanent closure.

You should consider upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 10, as it will be difficult to secure Widows 7 after End Of Support.

TIP: This post will show you how to Install & activate Windows 7 ESU keys on multiple devices using MAK.
