Microsoft’s search engine Bing, and HackerRank recently have teamed up to offer millions of programmers an easy way to find useful search results. Until now, the regular practice for programmers has been to resort to search engines to get answers on various sites like, Stackoverflow, Stackexchange and other blogs to learn a new algorithm working.
Bing and HackerRank Partnership
When trying searching in engines programmers figure out which blue link to click. Then, transfer all of this into an editor and keep repeating the procedure by trial and error method until a solution is visible in sight. This process has been cut short now by a new way to learn programming languages and play with code.
The new method not only allows you to reveal the code solution you need but also edit the code and play with it in real-time. And the best part is it does not require IDE installation of any kind. The entire process helps you save endless time you spent earlier by navigating back and forth from search to your code editor.
Here’s an example to help you understand the concept better. Let’s say you wanted to concatenate a string in C#, but you have no idea how. At this stage all that is required from you is search the query and hit enter. You’ll instantly get the accurate solution, as well as the opportunity to edit the code right in your search results.
Marcelo De Barros, Group Engineering Manager for the UX Features and Shared Tools at Bing says,
“In addition to learning how a certain algorithm/code is written in a given language, users will also be able to check how the same solution is constructed in a range of other programming languages too –providing a Rosetta-stone model for programming languages”.
With this move, Microsoft, along with HackerRank, intends to improve the productivity and knowledge of the developers.
