While the 2021 edition of Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite—a PCMag Editors’ Choice pick—doesn’t stray far from its popular predecessor, it adds a roomier screen for an even better reading experience, and it’s now $40 off.

Still a smooth, black, matte device, the Paperwhite measures 6.8 by 4.9 by 0.3 inches (HWD) and weighs 7.2 ounces. The 6.8-inch, 300ppi E Ink Carta display is also 10% brighter, and the entire gadget still carries an IPX8 rating. Like the Oasis, users can tap into color-changing front lights that go from blue-white to yellow using two sliders.
