So far, IFA, Berlin, Germany has been the venue for many Windows 8 devices showcase and Asus is no exception to this rule. The company has introduced a new line Windows tablets or so to say the new names for tablets the company earlier introduced at Computex event. Formerly given the working name as Asus Tablet 810 and Asus Tablet 600 respectively, Asus Vivo Tab and Asus Vivo RT Tab have got their final names and been presented in a susrprisingly mature state.
Asus Vivo Tab
Deriving its name from the Latin verb ‘to live’ Vivo appears to be a perfect combination of Asus tablet design with touch-enabled windows 8 OS. The tablet has been designed with productivity in mind and is suited for both, personal as well as professional needs.
The tablet sports an 11.6 –inch IPS display with a 1.366 x 768 resolution and for providing more natural writing experience, the touch surface is complemented by Wacom digitizer stylus technology. Also, it features the Next Generation Intel Atom processorand has 2GB RAM with 64 GB eMMC user storage. The tablet is very thin and compact but despite its thin form factor and compact design, the tablet delivers superior sound quality. Thanks to its SonicMaster technology!
Apart hardware specifications, there’s 8 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash for capturing high-quality photographs and a 2 MP rear camera for supporting video chatting.
The real highlight of Vivo tab’s recipe for Windows 8 is its detachable keyboard dock. The mobile dock readily transforms the tablet into an ultr-book at any given time.
ASUS Vivo Tab RT
Asus Vivo Tab RT is an ARM based Windows 8 tablet that like Vivo has its own mobile dock that provides a QWERTY keyboard, track pad, USB port and built-in battery. The tab is thin and light in weight, 8.33mm and 520 g in weight.
Unlike Vivo tab, it has 10.1” display with 1366 x 768 resolution. Asus Vivo RT tab uses front and rear cameras of the same quality as in Vivo tab i.e., 8 MP at rear and 2 MP at its front. It ships with 2GB of memory and 32 GB of on-board eMMC storage.
Hardware specifications include NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor with 12-core GPU, and with 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC user storage, alongside. It also features a built-in NFC sensor, enabling the device to easily sync with other NFC-enabled devices, it says so on the Microsoft Facebook Fan Page.
There’s no word on the pricing yet but it is expected the devices would go on sale on October 26 with the release of Windows 8 OS alongside.
