The holiday shopping season is always an excellent time to buy a new Windows laptop, but shoppers looking to spend in 2023 seem especially spoilt for choice. The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 tries to stand out from the pack with an AMD processor and OLED display. It mostly succeeds, though its CPU and GPU performance fall behind some alternatives. Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Specs and features
The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor. It has eight cores and 16 threads, which sounds like a lot, but buyer beware: this is a rebadge of the older Zen 3 architecture, not the Zen 3+ or Zen 4 architecture found in more expensive AMD-powered machines.
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7730U
- Memory: 16GB LPDDR5
- Graphics/GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics (integrated)

- Storage: 512GB SSD
- Webcam: 1080p
- Connectivity: 1x HDMI, 2x USB-C 3.2, 1x USB-A, 1x 3.5mm audio, 1x MicroSD card reader
- Networking: WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3
- Biometrics: Fingerprint reader
- Battery capacity: 75 watt-hours
- Dimensions: 12.35 x 8.69 x 0.67 inches
- Weight: 3.06 pounds
- MSRP: $869.99
Asus sent me the full-fat version of the Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402, which pairs the Ryzen 7 7730U with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB solid state drive for $869.99. An entry-level model with AMD’s Ryzen 5 7530U, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB solid state drive is available for $699.99. I expect that model to significantly lag the performance of the variant I tested, but the less expensive configuration retains the OLED touchscreen.

Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Design and build quality
IDG / Matthew Smith
Asus’ Zenbook laptops, which once stood out thanks to their flashy “concentric circle” design, went back to basics in recent years. That’s a bit disappointing. The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 doesn’t look bad, but it doesn’t look great, either. It’s just another black laptop with a subtle metallic luster when the light hits it just right.
Whether the design is attractive is subjective, but it leads to more tangible problems. The laptop’s lack of texture makes it difficult to identify the laptop by touch and more likely to slip out of your hands. Asus includes a large rubber foot along the bottom-front edge of the chassis, at least, which provides a grip when picking up the laptop from the front.
The ho-hum design is a shame, because the Zenbook 14 has an edge over its peers in build quality. The chassis uses thick metal across the exterior to beef up rigidity, and it works. Display flex is minimal and the laptop feels rock-solid when handled from a corner or edge. Most alternatives from Acer, Dell, and HP suffer more display wobble, and those that use a plastic chassis often allow visible flex when held by one corner.
The Asus’ size is nearly identical to alternatives like the Lenovo ThinkBook Gen 6, Acer Swift 14, Dell Inspiron 14, and HP Pavilion Plus 14. All of these laptops use thin display bezels on three sides to achieve a slim, svelte profile similar to older 13-inch laptops. Weight is a similar story, though the Zenbook 14’s 3.06 pounds of heft does place it towards the lighter end of the spectrum of sub-$1,000 laptops. It’s easy to fit in a backpack or messenger bag, and you’re unlikely to notice its presence once stowed.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Keyboard, trackpad
My hands immediately found a comfortable flow across the Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402’s keyboard. While some keys (such as Tab and Backspace) could be larger, the alphanumeric keys are easy to find and have good spacing between them. There’s plenty of space along the palm rest, too, which makes the keyboard comfortable to use for hours at a stretch.
Key travel is not as impressive. There’s healthy key travel and a good sense of key activation, but the bottoming action feels vague. It works, but it’s not crisp, and it’s one aspect of the laptop that doesn’t feel as premium as it could.
Asus’ touchpad is typical for an inexpensive Windows laptop. It measures almost exactly five inches across and roughly three inches deep. That’s enough space to use most multi-touch gestures comfortably, though the depth felt a bit limiting while scrolling.
The touchpad serves double-duty as a numpad, a feature the Zenbook 14 shares with many Asus laptops. A long press of the numpad icon on the touchpad activates a backlight which displays numpad keys. 14-inch laptops aren’t physically large enough to include a numpad, so this feature is an advantage over Asus’ competitors, but it’s not a substitute for a real touchpad.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Display, audio

Asus was quick to adopt OLED panels when they became more widely available in 2021, and the Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 is no exception. It has a 14-inch OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 2880×1800 and HDR support.
It’s a wonderful display that punches well above the Zenbook 14’s modest price tag. OLED’s effectively infinite contrast ratio provides deep, convincing shadows that draw your eye into the display. That’s paired with top-notch color performance and a wide, vibrant color gamut.
The display looks great on the Windows desktop, and in day-to-day productivity apps like Word, but really stands out in entertainment like Netflix or your favorite PC game. Content creators will also find a lot to like in the display’s color gamut, which achieves 100 percent of DCI-P3 and 94 percent of AdobeRGB. It’s suitable for a wide variety of amateur and professional content creation.
Sharpness is another perk. The display’s resolution of 2880×1800 works out to roughly 243 pixels per inch. That’s more than a MacBook Air 13 and greatly outperforms competitors that stick with 1080p or 1200p resolution (which pack in roughly 160ppi). Small fonts are easy to read and high-definition video looks crisp.
Brightness is the only notable downside. The Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 achieved a maximum SDR brightness of 357 nits. That’s enough for comfortable use in most situations, but the display’s glossy finish allows significant glare. The display is hard to view in a bright room or outdoors on a sunny day.
HDR is supported and performs reasonably well for a budget laptop. I measured a maximum sustained brightness of 549 nits in HDR, which is a significant improvement over SDR and enough to provide some sense of added detail in HDR videos and HDR games. It could be better, but remember: this is a sub-$1,000 laptop. I’ve tested $1,000 monitors with less impressive HDR.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Webcam, microphone, biometrics
Asus crams a 1080p webcam in the Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402’s top bezel. It achieves a crisp image with good color reproduction, yet also allows plenty of noise into the picture. The result is usable for video conferencing but can appear grainy and busy.
I was even less impressed by the microphone. It recorded my voice with adequate volume but had a hollow, compressed quality. I also noticed the microphone’s noise rejection reduced the volume of my voice when I tilted my head too far away from the center of the display.
You’ll find a fingerprint reader built into the power button. It’s a convenient and quick alternative to typing in a password or PIN but, like most fingerprint readers, it’s unreliable if your finger is slightly wet or dirty. Cheeteo fans need not apply.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Connectivity
IDG / Matthew Smith
USB-C provides the bulk of the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402’s connectivity through a pair of ports on the laptop’s right flank. Both support USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alternate mode, meaning both can be used to charge the laptop or connect to an external display. The laptop ships with a USB-C power brick to charge the laptop through these ports.
The Zenbook 14 also had an HDMI 2.1 port, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microSD card reader. It’s a reasonable range of connectivity, though I would have liked to see another USB-A port. Ethernet is missing, but this is typical for many laptops sold in 2023—and Asus provides a USB-A to RJ45 (Ethernet) adapter in the box.
Wireless connectivity includes the latest Wi-Fi standard, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Support for both is boilerplate for a modern laptop at any price point, but it’s good to see Asus doesn’t cut corners here. Wi-FI performance was solid in my testing with no unexpected dropouts.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Performance
The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 I tested had AMD’s Ryzen 7 7730U processor, an eight-core, 16-thread processor with a maximum Turbo Boost speed of 4.5 GHz. It’s paired with 16GB of memory, a 512GB solid state drive, and integrated AMD Radeon Graphics with eight Compute Units.
These specifications set the stage for a showdown between AMD and Intel. The Asus Zenbook 14X OLED, which I reviewed several months prior, shares many specifications with the Zenbook 14 UM3402 but instead equips Intel’s Core i5-13500H. The two are similarly priced, as well (the 14X OLED has an MSRP of $799, while the 14 UM3402 is $869.99).
IDG / Matthew Smith
PCMark 10, a holistic system benchmark, turns in a respectable score of 5,812. That easily outpaces the Zenbook 14X OLED with an Intel Core i5-13500H, which only scored 5,089. However, there’s an important caveat. The 14X OLED only has 8GB of memory, and this does seem to harm its score in this benchmark. The Zenbook 14 does very well here, but it’s not clear if AMD’s Ryzen 7 7730U deserves the credit.
IDG / Matthew Smith
Cinebench R20, a heavily multithreaded CPU benchmark, again places the Zenbook 14 OLED mid-pack with a score of 4,289. This time, however, the Intel-powered alternative squeezes ahead with a score of 4,724. I found this a bit surprising, as Intel’s Core i5-13500H has just 12 physical cores—four less than AMD’s competitor.
IDG / Matthew Smith
It’s a similar story in Handbrake, where the Ryzen 7 7730U turns in a relatively lackluster performance. It required over 31 minutes to transcode a 1080p movie from .mp4 to .mkv using the H.264 codec, which is nearly two minutes longer than the Intel-powered alternative. The AMD-powered Zenbook also lands quite short of other small laptops though, to be fair, the Lenovo Slim Pro 9, Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360, and HP Dragonfly Pro are more expensive.
The CPU benchmarks show the Ryzen 7 7730U is a capable processor, but does fall a bit short of Intel’s Core i5-13500H. It also tends to underperform the Intel Core i7-1360P. This doesn’t sink the Zenbook 14’s forturnes, as this level of performance is adequate for a sub-$1,000 laptop.
Why is this the case? It’s because the Ryzen 7 7730U is built on AMD’s older Zen 3 architecture, not the Zen 3+ or Zen 4 architecture found in more recent AMD chips. Don’t get me wrong: the Zenbook 14 OLED feels plenty fast while browsing the web or working in Microsoft Office. However, shoppers hoping to snag superior CPU performance on a budget should consider an alternative.
IDG / Matthew Smith
The Zenbook 14 falls short in graphics performance, too. That might seem strange given the hype behind AMD’s integrated Radeon graphics but, once again, the details matter. The Ryzen 7 7730U relies on AMD’s Vega GPU architecture, which is now a couple generations out of date. It also has just eight Compute Units, four less than the 12 Compute Units found in top-shelf Ryzen mobile processors.
Real-world games struggle, too. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was unplayable at 1080p settings, as it achieved an average of just 15 frames per second (FPS) even with detail set to Low. Reducing the resolution to 720p improved performance to a barely-passable 31 FPS but, even then, the game took lengthy detours below 30 FPS.
Put simply, the Zenbook 14’s graphics performance is poor, and it makes the laptop a bad choice for PC gamers.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Battery life
The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 combines a power-sipping Ryzen 7 7730U processor with a surprisingly large 75 watt-hour battery. That sounds like a recipe for strong battery life—and it is.
IDG / Matthew Smith
I saw an excellent 15 hours and 20 minutes of endurance in PC World’s standard battery test, which loops a 4K file of the short film Tears of Steel. That’s almost five hours longer than the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED with an Intel Core i5-13500H processor!
This is a light-load test, and I would generally expect real-world battery life to be a bit shorter (10 to 12 hours of general Microsoft Office productivity and web browsing is fair). Still, as the graph shows, the Zenbook 14 clearly outlasts many competitors.
The Zenbook 14 OLED’s portability is further enhanced by its tiny 65-watt USB-C power charger, which measures just 2.25 inches wide and an inch thick. It’s easy to toss in a bag and, if you do forget it, the laptop can be charged by a wide variety of USB-C power adapters.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Should you buy it?
Asus Zenbook 14 UM3402 is a solid entry into the sub-$1,000 laptop arena. It feels more durable than many competitors, packs a gorgeous 14-inch OLED touchscreen, and achieves over 15 hours of battery life. These perks are hampered by mediocre CPU and GPU performance, boring design, and a mediocre touchpad. Whether it’s for you depends on your priorities. Those seeking battery life and a beautiful display should absolutely snag it, while shoppers focused on performance should pass it by.

A non tech savvy review. I’m not that great with tech stuff but I thought my comments on this laptop would help someone out there.First of all, I was conflicted between getting a Chromebook or a laptop. I wanted something lightweight, would last (who wants to contribute to e-waste) and had a decent amount of storage.Everything I wanted came neatly packaged in this slim, lightweight 16 GB, 14 inch laptop, and I’m happy I went with this one. There are a few downsides though.I wasn’t a fan of the fact that I needed to create an Outlook account and wasn’t able to opt out of this. Also, the whole process was a bit tedious so make sure you give yourself a good half an hour to boot up the laptop for the first time and click through all the pages. Also, the trackpad and keys look a bit cheapy and not my personal taste. I’m used to the quiet and elegant looking keys and trackpad on a MacBook, so keep this in mind. I’ve never seen a trackpad with numbers on it, I found that a bit unnecessary since I never use them. With that being said, it’s slim and lightweight which is great to travel with or use as a school/work laptop. I like that it has a built-in webcam cover and the battery life is good too. The storage is superior to any Chromebook I’ve come across and the price is right. I like this laptop a lot!
Good Quality Laptop. It arrived fast in good conditions
Vivobook model X1404ZA. Blue. The media could not be loaded. This review is for the Vizio book 14 inch, with the i3 processor and 16gb of ram.The model per the computer is x1404za. It's not listed on Amazon but that's what it is.First this has pretty good hardware for the price of ~$300. The processor is about 4x better than the i7 in my old (10 years) laptop. The ram is fast. DDR4 3200 Mt/s which is very good and not listed so figured I'd let yall know.On task Manager it says it has Intel 8gb GPU. But I do not think this laptop has a dedicated GPU. So this might be a semi -lie. Basically it's a software that converts the CPU processor into GPU functions. But that's not the same as a dedicated GPU. Intel doesn't make GPUs anyhow. It's not a gaming laptop (regardless of the 8gb GPU listed) and I don't plan to even try to run games from it. It's probably going to be perfect though for viewing videos or anything like that. It's a work laptop for me so as long as I can do zoom, PowerPoints, and some stats software, it's prefect. The laptop is light weight which will be nice considering I pack it around daily.Additionally the housing is aesthetic. I also really like the number pad option. The screen seems pretty good. I have a 4k TV and looking back and forth, the laptop screen seems about the same quality and resolution even though technically, it's not. But it does look good.Be sure to do all the updates and bios updates when you get it. You will need a Microsoft email to set up Windows. That's how Windows works since a few versions back. Hotmail email works fine.It didn't come with a bunch of bloatware, for once! I appreciate that. Nothing like spending hours removing junk from a brand new PC. Glad they stopped doing that nonsense.Overall , had it a week. Works great. No complaints.
Several complaints. I have encountered several problems and I don't know if that was me or windows 11 or the laptop itself or all three combined.I have avoided upgrading to windows 11 until now, so I am still not used to it. In short, my problems may be caused by windows 11 as well. The Biggest problems I have are:1 The fan sometimes started to run when the memory was only used at 30%. The bottom of the laptop became really hot. The fan could work really hard and loud all the time and the web pages started to open slow. This could happen even when I only had 6 web pages opened. I didn’t play games. I installed very few apps.2 Sometimes it struggled to open apps like pdf, zoom and Line. Not always, but frequent enough to annoy me.3 The webpage could become unresponsive. For example, When I wanted to change the color on a Yahoo Finance’s chart. It failed. I saw the cursor, the color options, I clicked it and nothing happened. The screen is just unresponsive.4 Asus’s screen is clear, but when i switched to look at my Acer IPS screen. I found it felt much better. Asus’s night light color saturation is also worse than Acer.5 When I tried to return this laptop due to the above problems, I found out Amazon only offers 2 Amazon stores for drop-off which are about a 30 min drive away from home. If I need to drive to other cities to return, I don't consider it a free return. Why for something worth 30 dollars, Amazon gives you return labels for free shipping or lets you return to your nationhood Kohl's, but not for a much expensive computer?
Glad I bought this. I like this laptop very much. It was priced very affordably and without sacrificing performance. I really like the size of the computer's keys as they are larger and easier to see and press since I have big wide fingers and sometimes with keyboards my finger can hit more than one button. I also like the built in camera eye shield. It gives you a sense of security knowing that no one is watching you through your camera. The air flow is also good because I can be on the computer for hours and it doesn't overheat. I would buy it again if I had to.
Nice computer. I bought the laptop from Australia hh. The delivery was very fast. It took only one week from the US to Australia. The laptop is very good to use at the moment.

Solid laptop. I bought this laptop for my daughter for college. It has been running flawlessly since she started using it. The laptop feels very solid but is not too heavy. It is slim. The screen is crisp and easy to read. Even with all the malware add-ons loaded, the operating system is very responsive. It ran so well that I bought another for myself.
Fast. The ASUS Vivobook Go is a great choice. It’s lightweight and portable, making it easy to carry around. The performance is smooth for everyday tasks, and the battery life is impressive. It’s a reliable and affordable laptop that’s perfect for on-the-go use.
great laptop. Super fast for word processing and works as intended. I got this to replace an HP for home office use and often have several tabs and applications open at once. The only knock is there is only one display port, as I prefer using 2 external monitors. I was able to get a USB-C to displayport connector to remedy this issue. The product states it supports multiple displays but it was a bit of a challenge finding a product that would support this but it is possible. I'd definitely recommend this laptop for the price, it definitely packs a punch for the price range.
Good laptop. Does what it's supposed to. Beware, it does not have upgradable ram, it is soldered chips. The ssd is upgradable. Stays cool well. I've seen others state that the screen is hard to see, I haven't had any issues with those problems. Overall I'm pleased with it.
Fast, works great. I was frustrated with the slow operation of my laptop. I wasted so much time waiting on it. This works quickly, no waiting around. It functions well overall. It is fast even when updates are running in the background. I am not a super techy person so this works great for a simple business or household use.
Worst screen ever to exist on a laptop. Unless you plan on using an external monitor do not buy this Laptop. The screen suffers from serious IPS bleeding where the screen's backlighting bleeds white across the screen. Dark mode on Windows 11 was completely washed out unless you can find that one sweet angle which no one should ever have to do. I sent it back the same day it was delivered. Very disappointing as I would have expected much better quality from an ASUS product lower end Laptop or not.
Easy setup. Just what I needed. First time with Asus. Always HP before. Very pleased.
Laptop was advertised to be with 16Gb RAM but it turned out to be only 8Gb. A great laptop but disappointed by the lower RAM.

This was totally a better laptop than I expected. I am writing this review to get an extension from ASUS for my laptop warranty but don't let that think you are fooled because of what I am about to write... everything is truthful and here to help you!First... I had an Alienware laptop before and it was just SO LOUD. And hot. I decided to look for a new laptop within my budget and crossed my fingers that it would actually be good. Well... this computer blew me away with everything I had expected from it. First, it is very lightweight but has a nice, smooth finish to it that feels very durable. The graphics are absolutely incredible and the sound is great. I will definitely like using this laptop whether it be just playing games, watching videos, or writing some poetry! It has all my needs covered. It is also SO QUIET. I am almost in shock at the difference this was compared to the Alienware that was just so much more expensive. The battery life is much better as well. I love the lighting on the keyboard, it just goes with my personality. It's quick, easy to personalize, I really am happy that I bought this computer and not something else. The keyboard is also so much quieter. I won't be waking anyone up while I am up late at night messing around online! I highly recommend this... your money won't be wasted. Good luck and have fun!
Outstanding. The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is an absolute powerhouse and a dream machine for gamers and creators alike.Equipped with top-tier hardware, this laptop handles everything I throw at it effortlessly. Gaming is buttery smooth even with maxed-out settings, and multitasking is seamless thanks to the powerful processor and ample RAM.The 16-inch screen with its high refresh rate is stunning. The colors are vibrant, the details are sharp, and the fluidity makes fast-paced games feel immersive and responsive.Sleek, modern, and undeniably ROG. The RGB keyboard is customizable and adds a premium feel, while the cooling system is highly effective and keeps the laptop running optimally even during long sessions. For a gaming laptop, the Strix G16 strikes a great balance between performance and portability. It’s lightweight enough to carry around without sacrificing the power you’d expect from a desktop replacement. While gaming laptops are known for short battery lives, the G16 pleasantly surprised me with its efficiency during non-gaming tasks. For the specs and performance this machine offers, it’s worth every penny. It’s an investment that will serve well for years to come.Whether you’re gaming, streaming, or editing, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a beast. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a reliable, high-performance laptop!
Amazing performance, beautiful build. The new ASUS ROG STRIX G16 gaming laptop I tried out has exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and graphics capabilities. The sleek but robust metal construction of the laptop provide durability and luxury, making it a standout choice for gaming enthusiasts. The graphics performance of this laptop is exceptional from the graphics card and delivering stunning visuals and smooth gameplay that enhance the overall gaming experience, much better from a laptop than i expected. The high-resolution display and advanced graphics technology bring games to life with vibrant colors and sharp detail. Overall, the ASUS G16 has exceeded my expectations, keeping cool under heavy loads, running games well, and a bulletproof build.5/5 from a gamer.
An awesome piece of hardware. :D. Love this computer, it runs smoothly for all the games I play and absolutely no screen tearing. Everything loads real quick, no matter what game or application. The 16:10 aspect ratio really makes for a fuller experience. The keyboard clicking is satisfying so that's a small little bonus. It also comes with a play, stop, forward, and rewind button for music which is pretty convenient.
Amazing machine. It's a big and beautiful laptop that slurps up all games like jam while staying very quiet by laptop standards. Expect high framerates and few frame dips thanks to high CPU limits, but with a few caveats.Pros:1. It is insanely fast and quiet. Balanced mode fans are around 40 dB (about as quiet as a desktop) but you can make them run much louder in Turbo mode.2. Good display. The 165Hz screen is quite good and fast, slightly better gamut then my previous laptop. The 16:10 ratio is also really nice for games and productivity apps. Mine has a slight green tint but only when using the iGPU, switching to Nvidia removes it. Which means it's probably a software issue (see "Cons" below)3. It runs cool. While playing endgame Dyson Sphere Program (basically a CPU stress test) the CPU doesn't even reach 80 degrees and manages to squeeze out 60+ fps where my old Ryzen 7 4800H would crap out and struggle to cough up 35 fps.Cons:1. Asus software is horrible, it's like it was coded by interns. This is the main reason I took one star off the review, out of the box MyAsus and Armoury Crate hog CPU and RAM and are constantly fighting against Windows' settings and each other. They can cause constant freezes and weird bugouts like the screen colors going haywire. Even after replacing them with G Helper, there are still a few lingering issues I have to be wary of.2. Bad battery life. Out of the box it runs like 5 hours max, 4 hours if you disable the screen battery saver (60 Hz is nauseating). Definitely going to need to lug that huge power brick around.3. The middle fan is very high-pitched like the ones you'd find in thinner laptops. It can be distracting for some, personally I'm on the fence. It is still very quiet and even gets drowned out by external speakers or headphones.4. Gaudy design. The lightbar is obviously annoying and the keys are pretty much unreadable without backlight on, which I really hate. The 4-zone RGB keyboard is also poorly executed, it looks patchy and has very limited color range. Typing on it feels very good though, it has full-size keys, high travel and good feedback. I just wish it had a numpad or a dedicated Home, End, PgUp and PGDown keys, there's a lot of wasted space on the deck.Overall I'm still very happy with my package, would recommend it to anyone who wants a well cooled laptop with insanely high performance with a tradeoff of portability and battery. And Asus, please fix your damn software.
I like that's nearly the quietest laptop compared to its competitors with same specs. also I'm impressedwith the GPU performance.maybe there's some coilwhine yeah but very minor to notice.overall I really like it!!
The laptop performs well, with about 4 months of usage and it is still rock solid.

GOOD BUY, esp for battery life. [REVISED Apr 6 '24 for storage issues - see end.]I bought two of these. The oldest is 18 months old and still going strong (although the screen isn't as bright as the second one, which I never use except to update it). My first one was just $150USD and now the same model has gone up by $40USD. It's still a great buy.You can also find a nifty review on YouTube by the user First Look.***PROS:1. Excellent battery life. It really does last for 8+ hours provided you're not doing anything intensive like accessing a high-capacity USB HDD. Keep in mind that a bigger screen, a bigger built-in HD will drain your battery faster.2. Weighs 2.8 pounds (under 1.5KG).3. Still a great bargain at the current price (I bought two for $140 ea. over a year ago).4. The 14" LED screen works well for most purposes. I've noticed that my oldest one (18 months old) is losing brightness. But for the price, I'm not worried since I only anticipate 2-3 years' use out of it.5. Built tough like a tank - compare to Dell.6. Comes with Windows 10. The update to 11 is free. You'll lose some built-in HD space, but it's worth it.7. Built-in webcam and mic. I've used them for Skype and WhatsApp - not great quality but if you're traveling they'll do fine for those or Zoom.***CONS:1. Only 2 built-in USB ports. You'll need a USB hub. Note that a typical (unpowered) USB hub will not take a large-capacity USB drive. So if you want to run two of them, a powered USB hub helps, e.g.: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BZ46YVRK/ [NOTE: I actually daisy that with a standard USB hub and plug the former's power connector into it. It doesn't short on me.]2. The built-in keyboard and mouse pad are minimally useful. For traveling, consider a small external pointing device and a roll-up keyboard. (Which is yet another reason to have a USB hub.)3. Very little useful space on the built-in solid state hard disk (about 38GB available for apps and data). A USB HD will fix that problem; for traveling use large-capacity memory sticks. IMPORTANT: you have to turn off Windows' restore points otherwise your on-board space will deteriorate quickly. Be sure you back it up when you get it (you'll need a USB CD drive or a bootable memory stick). I keep very few "data" files on it. [Keep the ESC key pressed for boot options.]4. Not terribly fast, the processors are rated at 1.1GB. Supposedly it can be overclocked but I've never tried. It's a nice addition to a desktop, but most certainly NOT a replacement.5. You need to know your way around Windows for the best results. For ex., I had to create my own batch file to run MSPaint. (It's designed to prefer MS Office 365 which I refuse to deal with. Consider Apache Open Office - it's free.) Even tho' the processor is 64bits, I've been pleasantly surprised by how many 32bit applications seem to run on it.6. The built-in speaker sound quality is **dreadful**, but one can't complain given the size and weight. For traveling consider bluetooth headphones/speakers or USB speakers.7. Keyboard keys aren't backlit, but then the keyboard isn't very useful as I noted. When I'm in bed w/ wife, I just use an external backlit keyboard (lots of choices here - I like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRMCPPZ5/ ... that said, if you're on a plane and the lights are off, you're probably just going to have to live with your cell instead ... there's just not enough space on a tray table. For my money, it's not worth paying more for a built-in backlit keyboard.8. Will not hibernate (see below).***HD SPACE NOTES (built-in HD):1. I get the best results from setting PAGEFILE.SYS to a min of 2000 and a max of 3000 (roughly 2G & 3G respec.). Go toAdvanced System Settings | Performance | Advanced (virtual mem) ... you have to restart afterwards.2. I can't get this to hibernate (an annoyance when traveling). However HIBERFIL.SYS still exists. I got an extra 1.5GB by disabling hiberneration with this command (run from the command prompt as an administrator or power shell):powercfg.exe /hibernate off
Best budget laptop. Over the years Chromebooks have dominated the low cost laptop market. This offering from ASUS provides those that need or prefer a Windows OS an option for that at an incredibly attractive price. While the components are quite low end, you can't ignore the fact that it is an incredible value for the price point. While you won't be doing much intense computing or gaming on this device, it does make for a terrific starter laptop for children. It could also be a good option for those that just want to check email, web browse, and do basic computing on a very lightweight and portable device.Pros: - The bargain basement price. - Decent audio. - Very lightweight and sized perfectly for portability. - A trackpad that doubles as a NUM pad. Very cool idea. - A full HD screen.Cons: Storage is limited but you can use external storage if needed.
Nice little computer. I don't have much space to work and this is just the right size. I love the power button placement. Easy to find on the keyboard. My other computer it was on the side and I always had to search. This one is right in front of my face. I like that. I also like the shutdown button position. Click the Windows button and there it is on the right-hand side saving me a few steps from my other one. It has a number pad where the mouse pad is but I haven't used it yet because I have an external mouse. I'm sure, in time, I'll find out more things I can do but for now, I'm very satisfied. The only drawback I have come across is, and this is my own fault because I'm not computer savvy and I really didn't know what I needed, is it doesn't have a lot of disc space. I run a large program (which I didn't know that either) and it took up most of that space so I have to delete audio when I'm done with it. I transcribe for court reporters and a lot of the audio I get from them is large.Overall, it's nice and I will get one again when I need it, just more disc space.
Computer. Works great just what I needed
Terrible slow. Extremely slow 😭 Unusable, I had to return it. I just wanted to use it for reading and writing emails, watching media, very light things. Not recommended! (It was the cheaper one.)
Good for the price, slow, no sd card slot. We needed an inexpensive computer for our son when his chrome book tanked. I saw that people said there wasn’t much memory, but I didn’t notice there isn’t a spot for an sd card.
Well Put Together. The designe of the laptop gives it a sleek look that belies its entry level price point. The thin prodile and dark finish makes for an appealing looking laptop. Once you get your hands on it you can feel that the entire chassis is made out of lihgtweight material. The performance matches what i would expect out of an entry level machine device. There isn't going to be a lot of extra bandwidth for heavy multitasking, but things like light web browsing and word documents are well within the capability of this device.
Un exelente producto Me encante barato y bueno. Un exelente productoMe encante barato y bueno

Great Laptop for the Price. This laptop is very good for the money. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but what it can do, it does well. It is very responsive, plenty fast enough for my needs, and seems to be built well. I like the number pad, which my smaller similar ASUS laptop (which I use for work) doesn't. I've had the smaller one for over a year with absolutely no problems, and I expect this one will be equally as good.
This is a nice device!! My Christmas present to my family. I like that’s small of notebook and the deal!!
Love the brand, hate the platform. I've have an ASUS laptop for 3 years now, got my father the same model. This one is slightly different (3 years later), it loads in Windows S mode. It's a total pain in the butt to get it out of Windows S mode and then load all the software you like - Adobe Reader, Chrome, MS Office 365, etc etc. Windows S mode only allows you to use Edge and do download directly from the Microsoft Store, which is still a pain in the butt. If you're up for the challange of getting out of the W S Mode, the power of this device and the clarity is awesome! Gaming computer - no, it's not powerful enough for on line gaming. If you have a cd / dvd player, it will play computer games that way or movies from disc with clarity and good speed (gaming).
RUNAWAY!!!! SO SLOW IT GLITCHES PLAYING MUSIC. This is the worst laptop I've ever bought, DO NOT PURCHASE IT! I don't know if the ever reviewers got a different laptop but it's so slow it's unusable! I used to be an ASUS Laptop fan, because I had great previous products with them. This one is so slow it's unusable. You CANNOT have two programs open at the same time. You CANNOT have 5 tabs open at the same time. It's that bad, it will glitch out while I'm listening to music so much so that the music makes a horrible sound. It genuinely unusable. I made the mistake of following the other reviews that said "it gets better when you remove Microsoft S" and "it gets faster when you get through all the updates." I should not have relied on those reviews because I went past my return date because I just had to get through "one more update" then it would be fast. IT NEVER WORKED. IT HAS ALWAYS IMPOSSIBLY SLOW! DO NOT TRUST REVIEWS ABOUT UPDATES! RUNAWAY FROM THIS COMPUTER AND SAVE YOURSELF FROM AMAZON COSTUMER SERVICE HELL! I have reached out to Amazon 4 times about this issue and 4 times they tell me they were going to give me a refund and 4 times there is nothing. I used to think Amazon Costumer service was good but now Ive realized it's just as poor as the rest and full of empty promises to get you off the chat. Finally, I have since realized that the computer is missing a screw, which makes me question the quality but I'm still not allowed to return it. RUNAWAY!!! WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS!!!
Good 200$ laptop. Son has been using it. Not preloaded with a bunch of ads. Runs fine and he uses it for school / Google classroom. We got a nice carry case for it I don't think it woukd survive a fall XD
A Very Nice Item. One of the best computers that I have ever owned.
Good hardware, bad bloatware. Overall, this is a pretty decent and simple laptop and serves the purpose for which we bought them. Despite the lower end system specs, the hardware does perform nicely. Not blazing fast but not slow, either. The screen quality is what you'd expect in this price range. The full keyboard layout is great and the weight and design of it is pretty solid. It comes in Windows S mode which only allows you to install apps from the microsoft store which makes it secure for less than tech savy users who just want to mess around on the web safely. You need to take it out of S mode and convert it to Windows 10 Home to install any apps not available in the store. That said, the bloatware is unforgivable. It comes preinstalled with McAfee. If you know anything about McAfee, they are essentially a virus posing as an anti-virus program. Once preinstalled, you're never getting rid of it. Not with the Windows Apps & Programs uninstaller or the "Removal Tool" from McAfee themselves. You run either, it just keeps coming back. If you try to delete the registry keys, you can't because they have running process that protects it from deletion. And if you are wise enough to figure out how to delete it from safe mode (like you would with a virus), it hijacks the Windows shutdown process to add it back in (like a virus). The only way to really get rid of it is to completely format and reinstall Windows. The problem there is you need ASUS's drivers afterward for the proprietary keyboard and touch pad. Which of course ASUS does not offer on the product support page. ASUS also has their own bloatware called MyASUS which, also, you will not be able to fully remove. If you can live with the preinstalled apps and McAfee, then this laptop may suit your purposes. If you're using it for work or business, you'll be able to get it functioning enough to use but be warned, it takes some extra work to get McAfee into a state where it's just there lurking while your real security software is in place.
Great PC Value: Light, Sleek & Fast. I bought this Asus laptop because I bought a piece of design equipment that is run solely by software that requires Windows operating system. Since it will be dedicated to just this operation, I wanted an inexpensive but powerful laptop with a large clear screen. The 15.6" screen is sharp, clear and visible from a distance and different angles without much distortion that you often find when viewing laptop screens from an angle. This Asus running Windows 10 Home (I converted it from Windows 10 S mode) runs my design program perfectly without any lag in speed or function. It's lightweight, sleek, the keyboard is easy to type on and colors render quite nicely on the screen. While it may not be up to gaming (not a gamer here) it's a perfect laptop for a student who needs basic computing needs and like me, someone who needs to run a windows-exclusive design program.Full disclosure: By submitting this I may qualify for an additional 90 day warranty. Why wouldn't I? I was about to submit my positive review anyway when I got he email offering the additional warranty. I do like this laptop very much ... and that's coming from a dedicated Macintosh user! I definitely recommend this Asus L510 laptop. You can't go wrong.

Works Great. Great computer for a great price.
It may be refurbished but i looks and works like brand new. What a great everyday laptop, I did buy a 1 TB hard drive for it and it just plugs in and if you buy the Samsung drive you can download free software to move the operating system to the new larger drive and then format the old 128 gig drive for file storage. I will be buying another one on payday.
It's perfect for school and simple everyday browsing. I liked the price. I used it for school.
Nice functional computer for the price. Works very well. To me better than hp..
A Chromebook "running" W11. Do not buy this. It is complete junk. The 128GB "SSD" is eMMC memory soldered to the board. There is an M.2 slot for a real SSD, but it would take more money and a little work to clone the OS and make this the boot drive. You are also stuck with 4GB of RAM because that is also soldered to the board with no expansion slot. The seller doesn't list the actual model of this ASUS because they don't want you to be able to look up the real specifications. It's sad that ASUS even produces this product. They basically shoved a cheap tablet motherboard into a laptop chassis and called it a day.
Gift. This was a gift for my daughter and it works great . Starts up well and no glitches. Nice gift. Good value for the money and just the right size. Visual brightness is good as well .
Slower than expected. operates slower than expected. Bought for personnel use. Do like that its lightweight.
Slow...overheats. It's super slow and almost unusable for normal work load. It will work if all you do is watch youtube or browse.

Like it. Very nice. Like the keyboard as well. Makes it easier to use. Good quality. Have loaded lots of games on it. It runs great with all of them.
Great unit, especially for the price. I use this pc for home. Big clear screen. ASUS makes good products.
GREAT CHROMEBOOK. This is all great purchase. Fast & easy to use. Light enough to easily carry. Yet built fairly solid. I highly recommend this Chromebook!
I love Chromebooks and have owned several. I'm on my computer for 10+ hours a day so I really give them a workout. It was time for me to order a new one and this was available at a great price....however, I didn't pay enough attention to the size. It's Much larger than the one it is replacing and I think I prefer a smaller size.....not the computers faults. I will be keeping it and I'm sure I will get used to it after a while. It is nice for streaming movies!
Great value. Bought this computer for my 8 year old to do her studies on and for me to do some basic word processing. The laptop is sturdy and does the job for us. She loves the touchscreen option to do her math facts practice online. It is quite heavy but nothing unbearable.I was hoping to load Microsoft Office on it; however it isn’t compatible. I’m a little bummed about that but that was my fault in not researching it more.Still love my purchase.
Look elsewhere for a different device. This is garbage. I normally don't write reviews, but when I do it's either for something outstanding or something that should be steered clear by everyone in the general public. Unfortunately, this one is for the latter. I purchased this device to begin with as a laptop to be used by my son for Chicago public schools and allow him to be able to access his school work. Upon receiving the first unit physically, the device looks and feels wonderful and within 2 days of starting to use it. The screen was no longer capable for touch capabilities and the keyboard was non-functional as well. I called their customer support line at Asus and Asus. Couldn't figure out what was wrong either, but I was supposed to pay to send a device I just bought to go have it repaired by Asus and this is why I say their customer service is knowledge below standard but I would say some of the worst there is on the market today. Amazon luckily was able to step in and send me a new unit as a replacement. Amazon's customer service is some of the best I've ever you dealt with. Got the new unit and now this one over here. Can't even stay connected to Wi-Fi. My kid can't do his homework. This computer is a total piece of garbage even for something as simple as a means to do homework for a grade school. I will never touch another asus device again and I would advise anyone else that is looking into this product to look elsewhere to avoid the frustration that I'm going through right now
Reliable and quick. I wasn’t looking for the fastest computer or anything but just something that can get the job done with efficiency and here I find it. Was a great find and would consider this a good choice for your first computer.
Operates exactly as expected. I didn't take into account how big this is with a 15" screen. A little too big and heavy for casual web surfing while perched on my lap. Next time, get a much smaller and lighter device. But that's my fault for not planning out my purchase better.

Laptop. Totally liked it. Smooth little oversized but I love the performance so far.
Producto Premium. Ecxactamente lo que se describe.Producto de alta calidad con entrga rapida
Quality gaming laptop for the money. High quality gaming laptop for the money. Sturdy construction, amazing specs. Blazing fast!
Trash. This laptop is slower than my daughters school Chromebook. This is not a performance laptop. This barely runs any games but all games even the default game on it take 22 min at a min to launch some take 2 hrs. Not worth the money. After all these years I tried ROG and still nothing but a letdown.
Love the power, not the random freeze ups. This laptop is amazing but it has some flaws in either software or hardware. The issues I've faced have to deal with the laptop going into sleep mode on the sign in page which cause it to freeze and causing you to force reboot, the other being that the laptop got a Windows update then proceeded to go into a blue screen of death boot loop.Luckily the laptop has a built in recovery system but I did lose all my files and install so be warned.Laptop is pretty good, disable the quick sleep of the laptop and make sure to backup your files and you should be golden.
Hard Drive. If you do purchase this laptop, be warned the hard drive may go out on you, mine did in the first week and I replaced it. You are warned.
Works great. Works great, speedy computer great for gaming
High Quality. 30+ year Tech. This is what you would expect from ASUS. There is nothing this thing won't do.Pro tip there is a second slot for NVMe for an added drive. I replaced the Kingston 1tb with 2 Samsung evo NVMe 2Tb sticks for raid configuration.Startup from power on desktop is about 4 seconds, it's lightweight. Battery lasts about 2-2.5 hours on high performance mode. 3-3.5 hours on echo mode.

Excellent machine. I recently purchased the 2024 ASUS VivoBook, and I couldn't be more pleased with my choice! From the moment I unboxed it, the sleek and modern design caught my eye. The build quality is exceptional, combining lightweight portability with a robust feel. The performance has been outstanding, thanks to the latest Intel Core processor and ample RAM. It handles multitasking effortlessly, and I've experienced zero lag, even when running multiple applications simultaneously. The SSD provides lightning-fast boot times and quick access to my files, enhancing overall productivity. The display is vibrant and crisp, perfect for both work and leisure. The colors are rich, and the resolution makes everything look sharp and clear. I especially appreciate the thin bezels, which make the screen feel even more expansive. The keyboard is a joy to type on, with comfortable, well-spaced keys that make long typing sessions a breeze. The backlighting is a nice touch for working in dim environments. The touchpad is responsive and supports various gestures, adding to the ease of navigation.Battery life is another highlight. On a full charge, I can get through an entire workday without reaching for the charger. This kind of endurance is fantastic for someone constantly on the go.Connectivity options are plentiful, with a variety of ports that accommodate all my peripheral needs. The inclusion of USB-C is a significant plus, offering fast data transfer and charging capabilities.Overall, the 2024 ASUS VivoBook delivers in every aspect, making it an excellent choice for both professionals
Amazing laptop with a very large monitor. This laptop's specs are perfect for my work, YouTube, and browsing the internet. Plus, the huge monitor is awesome for my kid's online learning.
Keyboard Didn’t Work-Amazon Won’t Refund Me. All the features I needed and more- and at a great price. Actually got an early Black Friday sale price. I was able to start it, set it up, and went through several updates and restarts upon receiving. I never got to use it in any way. The keyboard stopped working after the last update from Microsoft. I’m Certified, so I tried every trick I knew how to. Every key was completely dead.Be careful whom you purchase anything from on Amazon. I thought at the time of purchase this was bought and sold by Amazon. I was even given a special payment plan through Amazon. As of writing, this shows as bought and sold by Amazon. BUT I was told by overseas “customer service” that it was actually sold by ASUS. So I am connected with them. Also of course overseas. They tried a few steps and nothing worked- I was told it was a “hard reset”. At this price folks, you’re not buying an Apple product and you absolutely won’t be getting Apple support. So cut to me going back to Amazon and asking for a replacement. I was told it wasn’t possible because it actually wasn’t officially sold by them. Again, I’m confused because I’m pretty certain that’s not correct and I don’t think I would have been extended a monthly payment plan directly from Amazon if it wasn’t a product they held in stock. They were able to arrange a pick up by UPS for the product and after many many attempts in between the call and the pick up the keyboard never did work.It also wouldn’t read my fingerprint. I never clicked on a single feature or any website. Nothing. I never got to navigate anything on the computer or any of the settings or features. I literally set it up with my information. And that was all I got out of it. It did several updates and restarts and after the last one I could never login. So I can’t speak to any features or sound or video, Etc..As of right now, I am still being offered this computer with the same deal, the same monthly payment, and shows it is shipped and sold by Amazon. So buyer beware. Know who to speak to and what questions to ask because Amazon will take zero responsibility. My two initial payments which amount to well over $300 will probably take weeks and weeks to get refunded. I am told this computer has to be sent back to the manufacturer so who knows if I will even ever get a refund. I have read a separate review with another issue with this model and they claimed it took about six weeks to get a refund. This is how Amazon works. Pushing off responsibility to the next and ultimately the customer loses. This is probably why I don’t live in Beverly Hills. Or Miami. Or DC. Or have the biggest sailing yacht ever built. This company has gamed the system and gotten away with it. Legally. At the price of our needs for a discount.Sell enough plastic dolls and you yourself can have your very own real life version.
Almost perfect. I mostly really like this computer. It met my expectations for speed and I like the large screen. The silver keyboard buttons are a little difficult to see, but I am a pretty good typist, so that doesn't bother me much. The only issue I am having is with the mouse. The pad sticks with the click button down and until it unsticks it cant be used. This is happening multiple times during most uses. Not a problem I want to deal with on a new computer! But I don't know if they are all like that or if it is just this one. So I removed one star for the hassle of seeing if I can get that fixed. Otherwise, smooth sailing!
Impressed. Definitely worth the money. It was easy to setup my stuff and very easy to use it. I love it
Big screen. This computer is amazing, we bought this for our daughter senior year of high school and for college. She has always owned ASUS loves these computers. The screen is great because you can see everything that is needed.
Super fast and very large screen. I bought this for my husband who was always complaining about his slow laptop. This one is very fast and opens quickly.I shopped for this with the help of 2 IT friends who guided me to this laptop. They came over to set it up for my husband and were both amazed at how large the screen is and how quickly it responds.I think this was a great choice and my husband is loving it!
Decent computer, but horrible BIOS with a stupid QR code instead of text that would help. I needed to disable the Intel RAID. Unlike every other system I've seen, and I've seen many, this one calls it a VMD controller. Why isn't that option on the Intel RAID page? There was a FAQ / help page, but it shows a stupid QR code. Assuming I have a smart phone when I just want to read a few lines OF TEXT explaining your naming convention of intel volume management device vs RAID as it is labelled elsewhere in the BIOS is just silly. First, they're too cheap for manuals, now they can't spare 5kb for text, but they can put in a QR code? Asus used to be my goto for desktop motherboards, but they off my list now. I vote with my dollars and insisting I have another device to use this one is something I can't tolerate.
Asus PC La calidad muy buena y la tecnología de otro nivel. WOW !
This is so much lighter and faster than my previous ASUS. Very happy with my purchase.
Es rápida, ligera, buena calidad de imagen.Pero su batería no dura lo suficiente

I really like this machine. I am choosy about devices and I am comfortable in both Windows and Mac ecosystems. I work in education the organization uses Windows so it made sense to choose a Windows computer. (Not to mention that I bought my own because ours are old and the organization can't purchase everyone new ones quite yet.)Enter this Asus. My work machine didn't give me more than an hour off the charger and was a beast to carry so I was anxious for something light and stable to carry. This Asus Vivobook is fantastic on both counts. The Ultra 9 processor is very fast and spends very little time "grindining" or humming. You know the sound I am talking about. The keyboard is quick and responsive. And the OLED screen? Gorgeous! If you have never had an OLED it gives the screen a gloss-matte appearance that is virtually free of glare. this computer is a lot easier on my eyes than the other. It's just smooth. The first couple of days I was mildly concerned when the laptop generated some heat on the charger. I waited it out, and glad I did, because that has resolved. Most computers will do that as they enter the heavy workload of downloading and installing updates.Anyway, I am glad I made this purchase. It's light, quick, sleek and basic, easy to hold and easy to look at. The battery life too... Didn't even mention that. I can literally work all day before needing to charge it. And it sleeps reliably without continuing to bring up processes when shut.
Small, quiet and powerful enough. What can I say?I was specifically looking for something small, lightweight and with performance that would cover my educational needs, in particular, working with special programs.Overall, I am happy with my choice.Good screen, normal sound. I do not listen to music on the laptop. For this I have good speakers and headphones but if do not nitpick, the sound is really good. This is not my first Asus. My first laptop was more productive and covered 100% of my needs but it was heavier and inconvenient to move. Also, in some places there was play and creaking. There were also light spots on the screen near the frame. This laptop does not have such problems. Nothing creaks, the screen is fine, although it has a different type of matrix but I really like it.It's just a pity that you can't choose a larger amount of RAM.
Light weight but fully loaded 14 inch ASUS laptop. I got a great deal on this top of the line fully loaded ASUS laptop on sale for $899. The OLED screen is one of the best I’ve ever seen on a laptop, and I’ve been in the IT business for three decades. The brightness and color accuracy would benefit anyone doing video editing or graphic arts. If you’ve never had an OLED tv or monitor you’re in for a treat. Each pixel produces light just like the old plasma monitors. Black is literally black. Colors are vibrant and stunning. HDR video is breathtaking. The laptop is ultra lightweight but sturdy metal construction. It has a high end Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU with 16 GB RAM memory and a huge 1 TB solid state hard drive which means this is a beast capable of running complex operations like virtual machines, video rendering, and AI onboard. I can run two external HD monitors while using the onboard OLED monitor at the same time. It has a micro SD card slot for all you drone pilots, vloggers, photographers, and videographers. Two built in USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports in addition to two old school superspeed powered USB-A ports and an HDMI port. The power supply connects on the side through one of the USB-C ports, so in my setup at home I use a powered USB-C hub to connect the external monitors and other peripherals. Plenty of inexpensive portable USB-C hubs are on Amazon for travel purposes. This laptop is so lightweight that you won’t hesitate to take it with you. The keyboard has good action for an ultra portable, and you can control the backlight colors. I have big hands and have no trouble typing on this excellent keyboard. The trackpad is excellent, although I tend to use a wireless mouse when at home and when traveling. The only criticism I have of this laptop is the heat produced and the fan noise when running tasks that shouldn’t be taxing to this modern CPU like web browsing. The dual fans do a good job venting heat through the back but are very loud. I haven’t yet tested how this effects video calls but even if noise cancelling software blocks the sound for the call It will be loud on your end. That is the case on telephone calls and so the fan noise and heat is enough to zonk my rating down to four stars. An M3 CPU MacBook Air costs more but doesn’t have the heat or noise problems.
originally had problems, they were all user error. I had some issues right away with lagging and not booting up. It was all user error. Bitlocker doesn't allow it to boot up if it is connected to the internet via usb. and I had to turn off a lot of the start up apps and remove unused apps from my old computer when I transferred everything over. Now I love this computer.
Fast but inconsistent. It is a good product, It is fast at normal tasks. It has a good screen. Multiple connection ports.Battery drains by itself when it’s not used but last for normal used, web. On heavy use will drain fast.Rather have a Mac because I know the battery will not disappear while doing nothing.
Crashed evertime I woke it up. Right after I got this laptop, it was working fine. Then, about a few weeks in, I started getting a lot of weird bugs: the laptop would either crash and have to be reset every time it fell asleep, or it would close all of my opened apps every time it was asleep. Sometimes when I let it charge overnight, the fans wouldn't work in the morning, so I had to hard reset it. I went through may trouble shooting options and contacted asus's support multiple times. They tried to assist in resolving the issues, every thing the suggested never worked. It got to the point where I was going to try to factory reset it to see if that would fix all of the issues, as Asus support suggested. However, every time I tried to factory reset it, it would either get stuck on 62% or update the loop. I wish I would have just stuck with Mac; as a Compsci student, this caused a lot of issues, and I will probably never buy from Asus again.
