The holiday shopping season is always an excellent time to buy a new Windows laptop, but shoppers looking to spend in 2023 seem especially spoilt for choice. The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 tries to stand out from the pack with an AMD processor and OLED display. It mostly succeeds, though its CPU and GPU performance fall behind some alternatives. Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Specs and features
The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor. It has eight cores and 16 threads, which sounds like a lot, but buyer beware: this is a rebadge of the older Zen 3 architecture, not the Zen 3+ or Zen 4 architecture found in more expensive AMD-powered machines.
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7730U
- Memory: 16GB LPDDR5
- Graphics/GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics (integrated)

- Storage: 512GB SSD
- Webcam: 1080p
- Connectivity: 1x HDMI, 2x USB-C 3.2, 1x USB-A, 1x 3.5mm audio, 1x MicroSD card reader
- Networking: WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3
- Biometrics: Fingerprint reader
- Battery capacity: 75 watt-hours
- Dimensions: 12.35 x 8.69 x 0.67 inches
- Weight: 3.06 pounds
- MSRP: $869.99
Asus sent me the full-fat version of the Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402, which pairs the Ryzen 7 7730U with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB solid state drive for $869.99. An entry-level model with AMD’s Ryzen 5 7530U, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB solid state drive is available for $699.99. I expect that model to significantly lag the performance of the variant I tested, but the less expensive configuration retains the OLED touchscreen.

Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Design and build quality

IDG / Matthew Smith
Asus’ Zenbook laptops, which once stood out thanks to their flashy “concentric circle” design, went back to basics in recent years. That’s a bit disappointing. The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 doesn’t look bad, but it doesn’t look great, either. It’s just another black laptop with a subtle metallic luster when the light hits it just right.
Whether the design is attractive is subjective, but it leads to more tangible problems. The laptop’s lack of texture makes it difficult to identify the laptop by touch and more likely to slip out of your hands. Asus includes a large rubber foot along the bottom-front edge of the chassis, at least, which provides a grip when picking up the laptop from the front.
The ho-hum design is a shame, because the Zenbook 14 has an edge over its peers in build quality. The chassis uses thick metal across the exterior to beef up rigidity, and it works. Display flex is minimal and the laptop feels rock-solid when handled from a corner or edge. Most alternatives from Acer, Dell, and HP suffer more display wobble, and those that use a plastic chassis often allow visible flex when held by one corner.
The Asus’ size is nearly identical to alternatives like the Lenovo ThinkBook Gen 6, Acer Swift 14, Dell Inspiron 14, and HP Pavilion Plus 14. All of these laptops use thin display bezels on three sides to achieve a slim, svelte profile similar to older 13-inch laptops. Weight is a similar story, though the Zenbook 14’s 3.06 pounds of heft does place it towards the lighter end of the spectrum of sub-$1,000 laptops. It’s easy to fit in a backpack or messenger bag, and you’re unlikely to notice its presence once stowed.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Keyboard, trackpad
My hands immediately found a comfortable flow across the Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402’s keyboard. While some keys (such as Tab and Backspace) could be larger, the alphanumeric keys are easy to find and have good spacing between them. There’s plenty of space along the palm rest, too, which makes the keyboard comfortable to use for hours at a stretch.
Key travel is not as impressive. There’s healthy key travel and a good sense of key activation, but the bottoming action feels vague. It works, but it’s not crisp, and it’s one aspect of the laptop that doesn’t feel as premium as it could.
Asus’ touchpad is typical for an inexpensive Windows laptop. It measures almost exactly five inches across and roughly three inches deep. That’s enough space to use most multi-touch gestures comfortably, though the depth felt a bit limiting while scrolling.
The touchpad serves double-duty as a numpad, a feature the Zenbook 14 shares with many Asus laptops. A long press of the numpad icon on the touchpad activates a backlight which displays numpad keys. 14-inch laptops aren’t physically large enough to include a numpad, so this feature is an advantage over Asus’ competitors, but it’s not a substitute for a real touchpad.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Display, audio

Asus was quick to adopt OLED panels when they became more widely available in 2021, and the Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 is no exception. It has a 14-inch OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 2880×1800 and HDR support.
It’s a wonderful display that punches well above the Zenbook 14’s modest price tag. OLED’s effectively infinite contrast ratio provides deep, convincing shadows that draw your eye into the display. That’s paired with top-notch color performance and a wide, vibrant color gamut.
The display looks great on the Windows desktop, and in day-to-day productivity apps like Word, but really stands out in entertainment like Netflix or your favorite PC game. Content creators will also find a lot to like in the display’s color gamut, which achieves 100 percent of DCI-P3 and 94 percent of AdobeRGB. It’s suitable for a wide variety of amateur and professional content creation.
Sharpness is another perk. The display’s resolution of 2880×1800 works out to roughly 243 pixels per inch. That’s more than a MacBook Air 13 and greatly outperforms competitors that stick with 1080p or 1200p resolution (which pack in roughly 160ppi). Small fonts are easy to read and high-definition video looks crisp.
Brightness is the only notable downside. The Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 achieved a maximum SDR brightness of 357 nits. That’s enough for comfortable use in most situations, but the display’s glossy finish allows significant glare. The display is hard to view in a bright room or outdoors on a sunny day.
HDR is supported and performs reasonably well for a budget laptop. I measured a maximum sustained brightness of 549 nits in HDR, which is a significant improvement over SDR and enough to provide some sense of added detail in HDR videos and HDR games. It could be better, but remember: this is a sub-$1,000 laptop. I’ve tested $1,000 monitors with less impressive HDR.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Webcam, microphone, biometrics
Asus crams a 1080p webcam in the Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402’s top bezel. It achieves a crisp image with good color reproduction, yet also allows plenty of noise into the picture. The result is usable for video conferencing but can appear grainy and busy.
I was even less impressed by the microphone. It recorded my voice with adequate volume but had a hollow, compressed quality. I also noticed the microphone’s noise rejection reduced the volume of my voice when I tilted my head too far away from the center of the display.
You’ll find a fingerprint reader built into the power button. It’s a convenient and quick alternative to typing in a password or PIN but, like most fingerprint readers, it’s unreliable if your finger is slightly wet or dirty. Cheeteo fans need not apply.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Connectivity

IDG / Matthew Smith
USB-C provides the bulk of the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402’s connectivity through a pair of ports on the laptop’s right flank. Both support USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alternate mode, meaning both can be used to charge the laptop or connect to an external display. The laptop ships with a USB-C power brick to charge the laptop through these ports.
The Zenbook 14 also had an HDMI 2.1 port, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microSD card reader. It’s a reasonable range of connectivity, though I would have liked to see another USB-A port. Ethernet is missing, but this is typical for many laptops sold in 2023—and Asus provides a USB-A to RJ45 (Ethernet) adapter in the box.
Wireless connectivity includes the latest Wi-Fi standard, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Support for both is boilerplate for a modern laptop at any price point, but it’s good to see Asus doesn’t cut corners here. Wi-FI performance was solid in my testing with no unexpected dropouts.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Performance
The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 I tested had AMD’s Ryzen 7 7730U processor, an eight-core, 16-thread processor with a maximum Turbo Boost speed of 4.5 GHz. It’s paired with 16GB of memory, a 512GB solid state drive, and integrated AMD Radeon Graphics with eight Compute Units.
These specifications set the stage for a showdown between AMD and Intel. The Asus Zenbook 14X OLED, which I reviewed several months prior, shares many specifications with the Zenbook 14 UM3402 but instead equips Intel’s Core i5-13500H. The two are similarly priced, as well (the 14X OLED has an MSRP of $799, while the 14 UM3402 is $869.99).

IDG / Matthew Smith
PCMark 10, a holistic system benchmark, turns in a respectable score of 5,812. That easily outpaces the Zenbook 14X OLED with an Intel Core i5-13500H, which only scored 5,089. However, there’s an important caveat. The 14X OLED only has 8GB of memory, and this does seem to harm its score in this benchmark. The Zenbook 14 does very well here, but it’s not clear if AMD’s Ryzen 7 7730U deserves the credit.

IDG / Matthew Smith
Cinebench R20, a heavily multithreaded CPU benchmark, again places the Zenbook 14 OLED mid-pack with a score of 4,289. This time, however, the Intel-powered alternative squeezes ahead with a score of 4,724. I found this a bit surprising, as Intel’s Core i5-13500H has just 12 physical cores—four less than AMD’s competitor.

IDG / Matthew Smith
It’s a similar story in Handbrake, where the Ryzen 7 7730U turns in a relatively lackluster performance. It required over 31 minutes to transcode a 1080p movie from .mp4 to .mkv using the H.264 codec, which is nearly two minutes longer than the Intel-powered alternative. The AMD-powered Zenbook also lands quite short of other small laptops though, to be fair, the Lenovo Slim Pro 9, Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360, and HP Dragonfly Pro are more expensive.
The CPU benchmarks show the Ryzen 7 7730U is a capable processor, but does fall a bit short of Intel’s Core i5-13500H. It also tends to underperform the Intel Core i7-1360P. This doesn’t sink the Zenbook 14’s forturnes, as this level of performance is adequate for a sub-$1,000 laptop.
Why is this the case? It’s because the Ryzen 7 7730U is built on AMD’s older Zen 3 architecture, not the Zen 3+ or Zen 4 architecture found in more recent AMD chips. Don’t get me wrong: the Zenbook 14 OLED feels plenty fast while browsing the web or working in Microsoft Office. However, shoppers hoping to snag superior CPU performance on a budget should consider an alternative.

IDG / Matthew Smith
The Zenbook 14 falls short in graphics performance, too. That might seem strange given the hype behind AMD’s integrated Radeon graphics but, once again, the details matter. The Ryzen 7 7730U relies on AMD’s Vega GPU architecture, which is now a couple generations out of date. It also has just eight Compute Units, four less than the 12 Compute Units found in top-shelf Ryzen mobile processors.
Real-world games struggle, too. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was unplayable at 1080p settings, as it achieved an average of just 15 frames per second (FPS) even with detail set to Low. Reducing the resolution to 720p improved performance to a barely-passable 31 FPS but, even then, the game took lengthy detours below 30 FPS.
Put simply, the Zenbook 14’s graphics performance is poor, and it makes the laptop a bad choice for PC gamers.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Battery life
The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UM3402 combines a power-sipping Ryzen 7 7730U processor with a surprisingly large 75 watt-hour battery. That sounds like a recipe for strong battery life—and it is.

IDG / Matthew Smith
I saw an excellent 15 hours and 20 minutes of endurance in PC World’s standard battery test, which loops a 4K file of the short film Tears of Steel. That’s almost five hours longer than the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED with an Intel Core i5-13500H processor!
This is a light-load test, and I would generally expect real-world battery life to be a bit shorter (10 to 12 hours of general Microsoft Office productivity and web browsing is fair). Still, as the graph shows, the Zenbook 14 clearly outlasts many competitors.
The Zenbook 14 OLED’s portability is further enhanced by its tiny 65-watt USB-C power charger, which measures just 2.25 inches wide and an inch thick. It’s easy to toss in a bag and, if you do forget it, the laptop can be charged by a wide variety of USB-C power adapters.
Asus Zenbook 14 OLED: Should you buy it?
Asus Zenbook 14 UM3402 is a solid entry into the sub-$1,000 laptop arena. It feels more durable than many competitors, packs a gorgeous 14-inch OLED touchscreen, and achieves over 15 hours of battery life. These perks are hampered by mediocre CPU and GPU performance, boring design, and a mediocre touchpad. Whether it’s for you depends on your priorities. Those seeking battery life and a beautiful display should absolutely snag it, while shoppers focused on performance should pass it by.

Medium level laptop with lots of power and features. Excellent value for a quality Asus line. This 14" laptop is compact enough for travel especially on airplane seats when the table has so little space. I used to have a 17" old laptop and the screen gets "crushed" when somebody in front reclines the seat. However 14" can be little small for daily use but I am at a age using reading glasses so I don't have any problem seeing smaller words. At first I was afraid to go into a new laptop with windows 11. I got used to it very quick and no problem from the beginning. You can modify Windows 11 to look like Windows 10 but with better features. The monitor is bright and clear, pad easy to work and I can trust Asus with all its features and quality as I had Asus before. 512GB SSD is lightning fast and plenty of space after Windows 11. Even though it is Intel core i3, the 16GB Ram helps speed up with most common daily tasks even with moderately speedy games. WiFi and Bluetooth connections are fast and smooth. This is a great for me as a second computer for mostly travel.
Great value, bad screen. I bought the 16GB Ram/512GB SSD model and have been very happy with my purchase thus far. I do have one significant gripe with the product, so I'll get it out of the way briefly: the screen is very bad. The only acceptable viewing angle is very specific. Move your head left/right or up/down and you'll be seeing a photo negative of the display. It honestly feels like playing a 3DS on 3D mode.Luckily, I'm not using this while jumping on a trampoline or weaving out of the way of punches, so this isn't a total deal-breaker, but it is something I'm always aware of. The pros of this laptop are its good processor, great RAM capacity, and bang-for-your-buck SSD size. For $300, a lot is packed into this tiny chassis. I have a separate mini pc and steam deck that i use for gaming, so i was really on the market for something that could handle light browsing tasks and social stuff for a long time; this laptop is perfect for that, and with its specs, I suspect it is future-proof.Windows 11 Home is kind of annoying. It bugs you if you try to install something that isn't in their store. Microsoft Edge is very difficult to remove, and many don't recommend removing it out of fear that it is structural. The first thing I did was uninstall the bloaty default Windows apps, of which there were many. For the first time, I'm considering switching to Linux since I won't be using this for gaming or running any apps that are incompatible with Linux. My advice, if you hate this version of Windows, is to consider Linux or, even better, go to CDKeys or some other keyshop and buy a discounted redemption code for a version of Windows that suits you better.Lastly, the build quality of this device is remarkable for its price. The keyboard feels amazing. The touch pad is large and features a cleverly-integrated touch-sensitive num-pad that can be conveniently toggled on and off. It boasts "military-grade" build quality, and I'm not sure exactly what that means lol, but I can confirm that it's sturdy and probably built to last. There's also a nifty cover for your webcam lens.I understand that at $300, a sacrifice had to be made in some aspect. In this case, that is the screen. Normally I wouldn't take off a star if the sacrifice made sense in the overall value and didn't affect usability too much, but I really am annoyed by the screen, because I believe that a halfway-decent screen wouldn't have driven up the cost too much.I recommend this to anyone who needs a laptop for light tasks such as browsing, social media, and travel. A lot of its issues could be fixed by connecting it to an external display, so it could even be good if you're doing photo editing or using it to stream stuff. I love it!
Super light full function 14” laptop. Great laptop for work or school. It’s very light, price is reasonable and functionality is spot on. Clear bright display and it’s not limited like, just a Chromebook, you can run programs with this unit.
Definitely invest in headphones. I ordered this after reading several reviews as I have not purchased a laptop since 2008 the Dell switch top with me having tablets and smart phones it wasn't needed. Well going back to school I needed something else. My kids also homeschool so this is perfect for them as well. It's easily operated and set up i had very minium issues with it as this is my first time with this particular brand and set up. The screen quality was good for me and what I use it for but I have not tried it for video streaming other then college courses online. The keyboard is fine it's like every other laptop and I personally never cared for the way those operated so I chose to order a wireless keyboard and mouse for when I'm at home. The size isn't overly small or large at 14in . It has fans that help prevent over heating that can be a little loud at times but if you aren't in a quiet environment like a library you probably won't notice it. The volume even maxed out isn't loud at all which is a complaint I saw in many reviews. I just ordered noise canceling headphones I'll need those anyway doing my courses at night while my family sleeps.
easy to use, worth the price. As a student, this is light to carry for school, battery is decent, and storage is great, it has been 15 days since I got this and have had no complaints as yet!
Works well and good performance for basic Web browsing, documents processing, movies watching etc. Bought it for kid's school needs.

This was totally a better laptop than I expected. I am writing this review to get an extension from ASUS for my laptop warranty but don't let that think you are fooled because of what I am about to write... everything is truthful and here to help you!First... I had an Alienware laptop before and it was just SO LOUD. And hot. I decided to look for a new laptop within my budget and crossed my fingers that it would actually be good. Well... this computer blew me away with everything I had expected from it. First, it is very lightweight but has a nice, smooth finish to it that feels very durable. The graphics are absolutely incredible and the sound is great. I will definitely like using this laptop whether it be just playing games, watching videos, or writing some poetry! It has all my needs covered. It is also SO QUIET. I am almost in shock at the difference this was compared to the Alienware that was just so much more expensive. The battery life is much better as well. I love the lighting on the keyboard, it just goes with my personality. It's quick, easy to personalize, I really am happy that I bought this computer and not something else. The keyboard is also so much quieter. I won't be waking anyone up while I am up late at night messing around online! I highly recommend this... your money won't be wasted. Good luck and have fun!
Great item for gaming, delivery fast

Great deal. Good laptop, good build quality, great performance, great deal
Great computer. The Asus A16 TUF stands out with its powerful design and high-performance capabilities, making it a solid choice for gamers and heavy users. It offers excellent value for money, combining a robust technical specification with a competitive price, positioning it as an attractive option for those seeking reliability and quality without overspending.
Review of: Asus Tuf A16 laptop. I purchased the Asus TUF A16 seeking a versatile laptop suited for stock trading, social media, and gaming, all while keeping an eye on budget. After extensive research and comparison, this Asus model emerged as a standout choice.Performance Highlights:CPU/GPU Combo: The laptop is equipped with the Ryzen 9 7940HX, utilizing AMD's Zen 4 architecture for superior performance with DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 support. With 16 cores and 32 threads, it's a powerhouse! The combination of the Radeon 610M with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 allows for flexible GPU utilization whether surfing the web or rocking the newest AAA game title.Graphics: The RTX 4060 with 8GB of VRAM delivers robust gaming performance at 1920x1200 resolution, achieving over 60 fps, often surpassing 120 fps on max settings. Although there's an option for the RTX 4070, the 4060 offers a commendable balance of performance, efficiency, and cost.Display: The 16-inch screen boasts a 165Hz refresh rate (adjustable to 60Hz on battery), providing crisp, fluid visuals.Areas for Improvement:Memory: The default 16GB RAM might feel limiting, especially for Windows 11 gaming. I upgraded to the CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 5200MHz (CMSX32GX5M2A5200C44) for a more robust and future-looking setup.Storage: The 512GB NVMe storage is insufficient for modern needs. I supplemented it with the Timetec 1TB NVMe SSD (a budget-friendly alternative to Crucial's offerings), which cost me just $65.Conclusion:The Asus TUF A16 stands out due to its excellent performance-to-price ratio. It's a compelling choice for anyone looking to balance cost with capability. If you're willing to upgrade RAM and storage for longevity, this laptop is highly recommended.
Great gaming laptop. More than powerful enough to play every game on steam I wanted to play including the aaa games. Feels sturdy in the hands and ports are easy to access on the side of the laptop. keyboard works well along with track pad, though I use a mouse, xbox controller, and mechanical keyboard to game. Unit gets pretty hot on heavy graphics games but Fan works great, especially on turbo lol but it is loud but I mean so is the wind outside so what can you expect, just get a cooling pad from Amazon for 20 bucks and your golden.
Great Gaming Experience. It is everything I hoped for when I purchased this laptop to get back into gaming. This speedy beast can really keep up with all the latest games (at least the ones I play). It does get super hot but then that is to be expected and you should include the purchase of a fan system if you choose this laptop. I look forward to years of gaming on this device.
Awesome laptop. This is a great laptop for the price. Very powerful and will run whatever you need to. The ryzen 9 is incredibly fast.
Desktop replacement. Greetings this is my first review for an Amazon purchase. Let me start by saying that the laptop is incredible. I use it for video editing, gaming, etc. I was concern when I read the screen resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels. I have my resolution set to 1920 x 1080 pixels. I also have it attached to a 2k monitor and it works great. The power cord to the laptop is 280 watts, it does run hot. I have a laptop cooler running to help with cooling. If you are using a docking station to power your current setup. You would need to find another dock to meet the power requirements. My current dock is a Anker, rated to 180. If you are a person who has a large collection of music, movies, or pictures. Consider buying a larger hard drive, M.2. I ran out of space really fast and updated the 512 to 2TB. In the end all I can say is that I expect to use this laptop for the next 7 years before I consider buying a new laptop. I would definitely recommend this very powerful laptop.
Great option modern games look great. Great option clean look backlit keyboard metal case. Runs a little hot when playing demanding games but performs excellent. Plugged in is better than not but both work great. Awesome deal on sale probably still worth full price.

This was worth the wait. The 2025 version of this laptop comes with the Ultra 9 285H CPU, which was worth the wait. There are a ton of YouTube video reviews, so I will not go into all of the details - you should definitely watch them first, but here are my pros and cons:Pros:You can use it like a regular laptop, and it is totally stable and the keyboard is *great*.The OLED screens are beautiful and bright (though reflective in bright light). The vertical mode is super stable and easy to get used to.Moving apps between screens is simple, and I have had no problems at all.In "standard" mode, I almost never hear the fans, even with multiple programs running. The system uses a small 65W power brick...any 65W or higher PD brick will be fine. The premium body is not a fingerprint magnet.Battery life seems good, but I have not used it too much without ACComes with the active pen, but I have no use for itThe MyAsus application is very good, and puts the system controls in one placeCons:Heavier than your usual 14" laptop, but you have 2 screens :-)Two Thunderbolt 4 ports - why not TB 5?The keyboard battery life when removed from the body seems a bit short when the backlight is onThe CPU can take more power, but it is limited in this machine to prevent it from throttling too muchBattery life is limited due to the two screens, but that is to be expectedWhy not Win 11 Professional instead of Home for a premium device? There is only 1 M.2 slot for storage, which is a bummerOverall, this is one of the best machines I have ever used. Applications are quick, and I am never waiting for something to respond. This is NOT a gaming machine, regardless of what you might hear. The iGPU is not the best that Intel has to offer, and the NPU for AI is weaker than most - but for what it is meant to do, it excels. This is a business laptop dream - if you multi-task a lot, edit multiple documents at once, etc., it is perfect. Did I mention how great the keyboard is? :-)Highly recommended!R
Can't get into the BIOS. So far it's a bit difficult to set up. I don't use Windows and want to install Linux. My normal approach is to open a laptop and swap out the NVMe. I can't get the case open even though I have a "special" screwdriver. So on to plan B, which means I have to get the machine to boot from a USB drive. Windows, of course gets in the way. So far I have tried F1 to enter the BIOS, but I guess I'll have to try F2 or F7 or Del.Does anyone know how to enter the BIOS ?
Significantly better than 2024 model. I don't know if I got a bad 2024 model but out of the box I had significant lag issues. The laptop just seemed slow and the battery life was terrible, 4 hours tops using a single screen. After I changed the graphics shared memory from auto to 6GB it improved the lag but battery was still crap. This 2025 model, out of the box, had no lag issues and I'm getting 8 hours using a single screen.
Pretty happy; I love the two screens so much, I can't go back to a normal laptop. Love the battery life. It's better than last year's, and performance is also better than last year's. Games like Overwatch get 17–25 fps on low settings on the old version, and the new version gets 35–40 fps on low settings; on high settings, it gets about 17–25 fps, which makes sense for a non-gaming laptop. The software also has a new performance mode (full-speed mode). I use it for games, but the fan becomes loud. It gets roughly 200–230 fps in Roblox.
The Best NB in 2025. The best NB in 2025.
love it. I can’t express how much I love my new laptop. It has changed the way I work and travel. Everything is as expected.

5 star cheapest real laptop from the latest generation....nice. Hello to a new generation of chuggers. Good RAM. great 15 inch size, not a "serious" gaming rig but you can play games. Fast enough for business and movies and chromecasting in HD, great speakers, average screen, plastic tooth style keys (individual). great touchpad. metal case. light laptop. solid state hd makes it so nice. This is an excellent sub 400 usd laptop to get if you want a cheap, realtively powerful upgrade off of an old laptop. Ideal for: movies, chromecasting to tv, business, typing, browsing, light gamingCould improve: more ram, better screen.
High-Performance, Versatile Laptop for Work and Daily Tasks. I needed a laptop that could handle a little bit of everything—work, casual streaming, and light gaming—and the ASUS Vivobook Go turned out to be the perfect choice. It’s fast, versatile, and strikes the perfect balance between something like a Chromebook and a high-end gaming laptop. I picked it up during a Cyber Monday deal, and I couldn’t be happier with the value it delivers for the price.Performance has been excellent so far. The AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor and 8GB of RAM make this laptop responsive and reliable for everyday use. I’ve run multiple tabs, streamed videos, and even played some lighter games like Rocksmith 2014, and it’s handled everything without lagging or slowing down. It’s not a gaming powerhouse, but for what I need, it’s solid—responsive, consistent, and dependable. One thing I really appreciate is the privacy webcam cover. It’s practical and gives me peace of mind during video calls or meetings. The 15.6” screen is crisp and clear, making it a pleasure to use for both work and entertainment. Videos and documents look sharp, and the size is perfect for multitasking or just enjoying a good session. The integrated AMD Radeon Graphics also do a great job of keeping visuals smooth and consistent.Storage is another standout. The 512GB SSD gives me plenty of space for files, programs, and even a few games, and boot-up times are quick. Windows 11 Home feels intuitive and runs smoothly right out of the box, so setup was fast and hassle-free.The audio quality is pretty solid too. The ASUS SonicMaster speakers deliver clear, balanced sound, making it great for everyday tasks, music, and videos. As someone who’s spent a lot of time with tech, I can say this laptop is a winner. It’s well-built, reliable, and versatile enough to handle a bit of everything. If you’re looking for something that can balance business tasks, light gaming, and casual media consumption without breaking the bank, the Vivobook Go delivers exactly that.Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It does what I need it to do, looks great, and performs smoothly. ASUS nailed it here—this is a solid all-around laptop, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for value, performance, and practical features in one package!
Fine Afforable Laptop. Works fine. There is a blinking light on the side that is very bright and stays on even when the laptop is in sleep mode. Kind of annoying. Screen is more on the matte finish, which I prefer. Battery doesn't last that long, though.
Fast. The ASUS Vivobook Go is a great choice. It’s lightweight and portable, making it easy to carry around. The performance is smooth for everyday tasks, and the battery life is impressive. It’s a reliable and affordable laptop that’s perfect for on-the-go use.
Powerful and Fast. Great PC for low level gaming. I play various online games and have had no problems with the processor speed or the graphic interface. There is something of a battery drain on some games, but not really a big problem unless you play for hours on end. The price for this computer is quite reasonable if not downright cheap. Screen quality is sharp although the cursor is a little hard to see at the default settings. Bluetooth works well and the speakers are pretty decent for listening to tunes. All in all, a great deal for a win11 laptop.
Locked Out twice in 3 months since buying. Bought on Oct 8. 6 - 8 weeks later it would not let me log in. Called Asus support and after a laborious discussion with a rep who was obviously not in this country and spoke broken English we tried to fix the problem, unsuccessfully. She said only solution to wipe everything clean and I would have to reload everything. I am not technically savvy so this took a long time but I got it working. 3 days ago it locked me out again. Called Asus support again. This rep was even harder to understand than the other one. She wanted to take me thru the same laborious process. I said absolutely not. PC is in warranty and it obviously has a problem. They should send me a new PC. She said Asus would have to first diagnose at their repair facility and I would need to pack it and send it there via Fed Ex at my expense. Not cheap, so am debating what to do. When I read reviews before buying this PC I noticed some others had this same issue. Should have taken their warnings and if you are thinking of buying one, please take my warning. Maybe this issue is just with a random PC here and there but you may get a lemon just like me and others. Don't risk it.
Works well for the price. I got this when my 4 yr old HP kept giving me fits. I hear people saying that this laptop is slow, yada, yada, yada. First, anyone who knows anything about computers knows Windows is a storage and power hog. They put a lot of unnecessary stuff that is guaranteed to bog down a computer. First thing we did was wipe the laptop and install Linux Mint. Linux is lighter and faster than Windows. So, speed has not been an issue for me. My hubby said this is the fastest and easiest he has ever gotten Linux installed and we have been using Linux for the better part of 20 years. The screen is bright and crystal clear. I am blind as a bat and this screen is easy to read without any glare. I have had it unplugged for 3 and a half hours now and the battery power is only down to the 50% mark. Your are getting a $350 laptop, not a $1500 gaming computer. This is great for anyone NOT using it for gaming. I use it for facebook, bills, tracking my mileage and of course, Amazon shopping. I love this laptop, especially at the price it is.
Very good computer. Actually, this team worked super well for me for what I need. It is not very fast, but it meets my expectations. The battery lasts as well, I had no problem. I think it was the best decision.
Laptop was advertised to be with 16Gb RAM but it turned out to be only 8Gb. A great laptop but disappointed by the lower RAM.

Great entry level gaming laptop. Let me preface by saying the last time I purchased a new laptop was in 2005 (Acer Aspire 3000) and while tablets are nice for on the go, my digital life was a hot mess. I needed something that wasn't wafer thin flimsy and that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I am by no means a gamer, nor do I play PC games but I was still looking for a laptop that had some heft to it. I stumbled across this one mainly because it was suggested by amazon and the price seemed right even though its a 2021 model. After reading reviews and comparing bewteen this and the similar price/spec Acer Nitro, I chose this one because upgrading the RAM and adding an additional SSD drive wouldn't require a doctorate in computer science. As far as upgrades are concerned I also purchased the crucial 64GB (2x32gb) set as well as a 2TB Crucial NVMe SSD drive when I ordered this as mentioned by an earlier reviewer. The install took all of 10 minutes to pop the back cover off and slip in the new RAM/SSD modules and I was ready to fire this baby up. I figured I would just max the RAM (64GB) and beef up the storage and be done with it so opening the back cover wouldn't be necessary any time soon.Initial setup was pretty straightforward with Windows 11 and once I got to the home screen I got into the settings and performed all the necessary windows updates as well as the updates for the bundled Asus graphics software. Aside from the McAfee antivirus and the Microsoft 365 trial programs, there was no other bloatware to be found. Once those were uninstalled I was able to customize settings to my liking. The laptop comes as advertised, I wasn't expecting 15 USB ports on this nor do I require that many. The keyboard is very nice and is a full size with a slightly smaller than normal 10 key number pad. Keys are nice and clicky, not mechanical but also not a mushy membrane either. The backlit keys are a nice touch and can be customised to your liking as long as it's all the same color. It has about four different modes for pulsing lights or strobe or just on always. The trackpad is great and has the physical right and left mouse buttons and it is mostly centered so you dont brush the trackpad when typing.Out of curiousity I tried the online benchmark test to see how this machine ranked, and surprisingly with the RAM upgrade it ranked in the 92 percentile range (see photos) and the graphics were very smooth ranging anywhere from high 60's to 130 FPS on ultra settings. As mentioned I am not a PC gamer but hopefully this information will be helpful for those that do partake. I may run some console emulators at some point, but for now I'll just be enjoying the soft glow from the keyboard lighting.
I absolutely love my laptop. After using my laptop for a few months, I can say that this laptop is a great quality choice for gaming. It runs great for most games, loads fast, has multiple ways of monitoring performance, and is overall an amazing choice if you’re on a bit of a budget for a PC gaming. It’s resistant to overheating due to the multiple fans in the system which will turn on automatically when it needs to, but you can also adjust the mode of the fans with just a button. The sound quality is like any other laptop, but just a bit better.Additionally, as a college student, I’m always on my laptop for school work/documents/videos, and I never have any issues using my laptop for everyday tasks like writing papers/e-mails. It runs great and almost never lags, even with all the different apps and things I have downloaded.Overall, I 100% recommend if you’re looking for a laptop to get into gaming with and it’s in your budget!
Very Nice, BUT. It's a very nice computer with moderate performance. It works exactly how it's priced. Think of 'get what you pay for' in this package. It'll play games well enough without hiccups if everything is on medium settings for newer games, and very smoothly on semi-older games with high settings.Do not expect to play games such as Body Cam. It's doable, but the framerate is <30 and sometimes it'll look like a slidehsow if it feels like it doesn't wish to work that hard. It's been a mixed bag between each match. It took it a moment to properly 'wake up' when first getting it. Booting up the thing and getting everything set up may take a moment, but once you have it kicking, it'll keep up with your pace. Heat isn't too bad so far, putting it through a few things and it has gotten warm, but not hot.The weight isn't bad. Though don't take my word for it, it's my first laptop. Now here comes that 'but' part. Battery life is pretty much nonexistent. Keeping it off the charger and playing any type of game destroys the battery life. Fully charged, use the computer, unplugged, and the thing warned me about an hour fifteen minutes in that the battery is nearing it's end. Check the battery itself and it says "5%" and it has 6min of life left. So think of each percentile being ~1min of battery.Other than that 4/5,TL;DR: Medium price for Medium rig, Battery life abysmal without it plugged in. 1% = ~1min
La mejor laptop qué he tenido, no sé calienta no hace ruido.

GOOD BUY, esp for battery life. [REVISED Apr 6 '24 for storage issues - see end.]I bought two of these. The oldest is 18 months old and still going strong (although the screen isn't as bright as the second one, which I never use except to update it). My first one was just $150USD and now the same model has gone up by $40USD. It's still a great buy.You can also find a nifty review on YouTube by the user First Look.***PROS:1. Excellent battery life. It really does last for 8+ hours provided you're not doing anything intensive like accessing a high-capacity USB HDD. Keep in mind that a bigger screen, a bigger built-in HD will drain your battery faster.2. Weighs 2.8 pounds (under 1.5KG).3. Still a great bargain at the current price (I bought two for $140 ea. over a year ago).4. The 14" LED screen works well for most purposes. I've noticed that my oldest one (18 months old) is losing brightness. But for the price, I'm not worried since I only anticipate 2-3 years' use out of it.5. Built tough like a tank - compare to Dell.6. Comes with Windows 10. The update to 11 is free. You'll lose some built-in HD space, but it's worth it.7. Built-in webcam and mic. I've used them for Skype and WhatsApp - not great quality but if you're traveling they'll do fine for those or Zoom.***CONS:1. Only 2 built-in USB ports. You'll need a USB hub. Note that a typical (unpowered) USB hub will not take a large-capacity USB drive. So if you want to run two of them, a powered USB hub helps, e.g.: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BZ46YVRK/ [NOTE: I actually daisy that with a standard USB hub and plug the former's power connector into it. It doesn't short on me.]2. The built-in keyboard and mouse pad are minimally useful. For traveling, consider a small external pointing device and a roll-up keyboard. (Which is yet another reason to have a USB hub.)3. Very little useful space on the built-in solid state hard disk (about 38GB available for apps and data). A USB HD will fix that problem; for traveling use large-capacity memory sticks. IMPORTANT: you have to turn off Windows' restore points otherwise your on-board space will deteriorate quickly. Be sure you back it up when you get it (you'll need a USB CD drive or a bootable memory stick). I keep very few "data" files on it. [Keep the ESC key pressed for boot options.]4. Not terribly fast, the processors are rated at 1.1GB. Supposedly it can be overclocked but I've never tried. It's a nice addition to a desktop, but most certainly NOT a replacement.5. You need to know your way around Windows for the best results. For ex., I had to create my own batch file to run MSPaint. (It's designed to prefer MS Office 365 which I refuse to deal with. Consider Apache Open Office - it's free.) Even tho' the processor is 64bits, I've been pleasantly surprised by how many 32bit applications seem to run on it.6. The built-in speaker sound quality is **dreadful**, but one can't complain given the size and weight. For traveling consider bluetooth headphones/speakers or USB speakers.7. Keyboard keys aren't backlit, but then the keyboard isn't very useful as I noted. When I'm in bed w/ wife, I just use an external backlit keyboard (lots of choices here - I like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRMCPPZ5/ ... that said, if you're on a plane and the lights are off, you're probably just going to have to live with your cell instead ... there's just not enough space on a tray table. For my money, it's not worth paying more for a built-in backlit keyboard.8. Will not hibernate (see below).***HD SPACE NOTES (built-in HD):1. I get the best results from setting PAGEFILE.SYS to a min of 2000 and a max of 3000 (roughly 2G & 3G respec.). Go toAdvanced System Settings | Performance | Advanced (virtual mem) ... you have to restart afterwards.2. I can't get this to hibernate (an annoyance when traveling). However HIBERFIL.SYS still exists. I got an extra 1.5GB by disabling hiberneration with this command (run from the command prompt as an administrator or power shell):powercfg.exe /hibernate off
I love this unit. I'm not a computer whiz, all i do is surf the web and take care of my books on this thing. But I find this unit to be lightning fast for what I do. I must admit I was a little disappointed that this is an older model ( 2021) but that would explain why it took forever to down load all the updates it had to go through. Once the setup was complete this unit is a whiz. Down loads are very fast (that's compared to my old azus lap top). I don't know what people are talking about when they say this unit is painfully slow. But then I'm not a gamer. For people that use their lap top for normal every day tasks like me, this unit is the best I've ever had and the price is right too. BTW, it seems to be solidly built. I HIGHLY recommend this laptop.
Great Value for a Linux Travel Laptop. The laptop came bundled with Windows-11 installed, rather than Windows-10. Frankly, the machine is under-powered for Windows-11: Browsing via Firefox with multiple open tabs was painfully slow; Watching movies from an external hard drive stuttered. Once I installed Linux Mint, everything worked just fine, including watching videos from an external hard drive, and streaming Netflix to the hotel TV.It'll cost about $65 to get this up to snuff: $15 for a USB Ethernet Adapter/hub, and $50 for a 1TB M.2 SSD. Still, that brings the total cost to $200, which is an excellent price for a travel/vacation laptop.
DO NOT BUY THIS POS. First off, before you can do ANYTHING--I mean, even get to a screen, you MUST enter a microsoft email account to login. No skip is available--you must do it.Then, after an hour of updating, you finally get to a Windows screen. However, if you'd like to install anything--like, say Chrome, it will tell you that you need to "Switch out of S mode"--see, Microsoft doesn't want you installing anything other than what THEY want you to install. I wasn't aware this was Microsoft's laptop.Anyway, you follow the instructions to do that, but when you click the button it says "TRY AGAIN--something happened and we couldn't start the upgrade". I went online, tried like 5 different workarounds that all didn't work--even changed some BIOS settings, but STILL it's on.I'll be returning this--knew I should have just bought a Chromebook. ASUS--will never purchase anything from your company again. Get out of bed with Microsoft, the worst company in the entire world who won't stop until they can control absolutely every facet of your computer life.
Tight charger hole. I will share two reviews. This is the first one, before 30 days usage of the product. I have used a lot of personal computers and I must say that this one is very affordable. The first thing to note is that when you plug the charger in, you have to add a little force to it so that it fits. At first I thought the charger was not the correct charger because I didn't apply force when plugging in to avoid damage but after some research I found out that it was the correct charger. I applied some force and it entered. Also if you lose your charger, it's hard to get a replacement so I suggest you buy a universal charger.
This is a nice laptop works well however my son wants windows 10 not 11 this laptop has windows 11. Laptop has windows 11 not 10 my son wanted windows 10 it's a nice laptop be advised it's has inaccurate information on it will be returning shortly

Great and inexpensive laptop. So far I am very happy with this laptop. I do photo editing and also use it to run my laser engravers. It has performed flawlessly. I like that it has the number pad on the right and a nice big and clear screen. The batter life is great too! It was also nice that it wasn't full of bloatware. I would purchase this again for sure.
Designed for basic users. This is a well-designed laptop for basic users who will not need to upgrade. The battery is not removable. It comes in S mode, which limits software choices but is easily removed. Everything seems to work as expected and I have had no trouble using it. Users looking for a low-cost unit for home and home office needs should consider this one.
A delightful surprise. The ASUS Vivobook Go 15.6” FHD Laptop, powered by the AMD Ryzen 3 7320U processor, is a delightful surprise in the realm of budget-friendly computers. Despite its classification as a low-end machine, it punches above its weight with a commendable balance of performance and affordability. The 15.6” Full HD display is crisp and vibrant, making it a pleasure for streaming videos, browsing the web, and everyday tasks. The 8GB of RAM ensures smooth multitasking, while the 128GB SSD provides swift boot times and quick access to frequently used files. Running on Windows 11, it benefits from the latest features and updates, delivering a modern user experience. While it may not be designed for heavy gaming or intensive software, the Vivobook Go handles everyday computing needs with ease and reliability. Its lightweight design and solid build quality make it a practical choice for students, professionals, and anyone seeking a dependable laptop without breaking the bank. Overall, the ASUS Vivobook Go 15.6” FHD Laptop stands out as a top contender in its category, proving that affordability doesn't have to come at the cost of performance and quality.
Great Laptop for the Price. I got this laptop for my dad, and it’s been amazing! It’s slim, looks great, and works really well. The AMD Ryzen 3 processor and 8GB RAM are perfect for everyday tasks, and the SSD makes it super fast. The screen is clear, and the fast charging is very handy. My dad is very happy with it, and it’s a great deal for the price!
A good laptop and a great price on sale. I got this laptop for $200 on sale during Black Friday, and am very happy! A quick and easy setup out of the box, with very little bloatware to remove. I took the Windows 11 out of S mode, so I could download and install the programs I wanted, I also upgraded the SSD to 512 GB, which was simple enough to do. I use this laptop for basic "office" stuff and watching videos on line or with Netflix - been working great so far
Nice, affordable computer. Purchased this for a gift. Perfect for playing games and doing homework. Easy to set up and definitely a good value for what she needed.
Best of both worlds. I love how slick and light the laptop is for a gaming system it’s works great the sound is amazing. It was very easy to set up and it was money well spent it might not be the newest of gaming technology but it’s definitely great for beginners like myself and multitasking with school and work.
A good, cheap laptop with an important asterisk. This laptop has pretty good specs for the price, and the only thing that would make this a 5 star recommendation is if it had Windows 10 installed out of box. The specs suit it much better, and for comparison:Windows 11 ram usage with just firefox open: 6.2gbWIndows 10 ram usage with just firefox open: 4.8gbWindows 11 storage space free with just firefox installed: 76gbWIndows 10 storage space free with just firefox installed: 89gbI didnt grab any other metrics like what the CPU was doing, but since Windows 10 is older it should run better and it does feel like it with frame-rate speeds and user input response times being slightly more responsive. In short, if you get this laptop and have a flashdrive with Windows 10 install media, install windows 10.With Windows 10: 5/5Runs fasterMore available ramMore available storageInstall removes bloatwareStill supported as of 01/17/2025With Windows 11: 4/5Runs slightly slowerLess available ramLess available storageComes with bloatwareStill supported as of 01/17/2025I will update this if I ever look more in depth.
Got it for Singapore $381. Wish it came with at least double the capacity of storage space; but can't complain for the price paid. Will do an upgrade after warranty expires.
