Did you know the HomePod Mini can tell you the indoor temperature and humidity level, of where ever the HomePod Mini is located?

The HomePod Mini recently received a software update that enabled two built in sensors on the device that were previously dormant; indoor temperature, and indoor humidity level. This is completely different from getting the weather of your general location with Siri on HomePod, because instead it gives you the exact temperature of where the HomePod itself is located.

You can access the climate features on HomePod Mini from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, by using the Home app. Here’s how it works.

How to View Temperature & Humidity Sensors from iPhone, iPad, Mac

  1. Open the Home app on iPhone, Mac, or iPad
  2. Choose “Climate” at the top of the Home app screen
  3. Here you’ll find readings for Temperature (indoors) and Humidity (indoors)

You can even use the temperature and humidity sensors and detection capabilities for automations with the Home app, but that’s a topic for another article.

If you don’t see the Climate option available, you likely have not updated the HomePod Mini software yet, but you can do that from the Mac Home app or iPhone and iPad Home app too. You must be on HomePodOS 16.3 or newer to have access to the humidity and temperature sensors on the device.
