In good news for Edge for mobile users, Microsoft has introduced ‘Collections’ in the Edge mobile browser for Android and iOS devices. Collections have been an essential part of Edge’s desktop experience for quite some time now. Thanks to Collections, Edge users can quickly bookmark tabs to access them later.

In fact, Collections happens to be one of the most-requested features on Edge for mobile over the last few weeks. Finally, the wait is over. As a result, Edge for Android and iOS users can expect a similar experience with Collections as one on the desktop.

Edge mobile browser now supports Collections

In her recent blog post, Amy DeVries, Program Manager at Microsoft Edge wrote:

“We’re excited to announce that Collections is now available in the Microsoft Edge mobile browser on your iOS and Android devices! We have been listening to your feedback on the desktop experience and hear that you want to access your collections on-the-go.”

Up until now, Collections were unavailable on mobile versions of Microsoft Edge. As a result, users were not able to access desktop collections on their mobile devices. This changes with the arrival of Collections on Edge for mobile. Now, Android and iOS users can add more content to their existing collections or start new Collections altogether.

According to Microsoft, Collections on mobile are designed to let users jump between web pages and compare items in their collections. Edge mobile browsers provide users with a collapsible Collections drawer that allows users to view webpages alongside their collections to further enable multi-tasking.

Getting started with Edge mobile collections

You can access Collections from within the “…” browser menu at the bottom of the screen. Collections can be synced across mobile and desktop devices. Once synced, collections created on PC will be visible on mobile. All users need to do is click on the respective card. Users can create new collections by tapping the + button. Users can also give individual collections a unique title.

Furthermore, a collapsible drawer offers multiple views of the same collection. This way, Edge users can easily browse and add websites to collections on a small screen.

Meanwhile, here’s how to enable the Collections feature in Microsoft Edge.
