Microsoft has entered into a sponsorship agreement with IEEE.tv. IEEE ofcourse is a neutral and well-respected industry association, and Microsoft would be able to drive awareness of their academia initiatives. IEEE.tv, launched in August 2006, is an award-winning, Internet-based television network.

They produce and deliver special-interest programming about technology and engineering for the benefit of IEEE’s member and the general public.

Microsoft has created a series of videos that they’ll use in their own campaigns and will also be promoted on the IEEE site and at their events and in member activities reaching 410,000 IEEE members, including promotion to 100,000+ student members. The videos will also be promoted in IEEE’s e-mail newsletters/campaigns.

The 5-7 minute videos will be released over the next several months. Microsoft is also sponsoring 24 of IEEE’s highest rated student and career related videos. Each of these videos display an Imagine Cup ad playing ahead of the videos.

Microsoft also offers FREE software to IEEE student members.
