Microsoft has launched its PowerApps portal. The introduction of the web apps design platform will enable the ability to build low-code, responsive websites through a dedicated portal designer. External users would be allowed to interact with the data stored in the Common Data Service. Also, it will add key capabilities like,

Today we’re excited to announce PowerApps Portals, the ability to build low-code, responsive websites which allow external users to interact with the data stored in the Common Data Service. Starting in next month, you’ll be able to create a new App type called “Portal” directly from PowerApps. Using a simple, dedicated designer experience, makers can create pixel-perfect websites which are custom branded and allow users to interact with data stored in the Common Data Service, mentioned Charles Lamanna, General Manager of Microsoft PowerApps.

1] Customers and partners engagement

Access to a portal will be possible through multiple methods including

  • Personal accounts
  • LinkedIn
  • Azure Active Director,
  • Anonymous access

This capability will enable organizations to create websites which can be shared with users external to their organization either anonymously or through the login providers mentioned above.

2] Integration with Microsoft Services

PowerApps Portal will offer deep integration with several Microsoft services to enhance the developer’s portal with rich content and provide a personalized experience. The services include,

Azure AD B2C, Power BI embed, Microsoft SharePoint, Azure Blob Storage, Microsoft Flow, and Azure Application Insights to enhance your portal with rich content and provide a personalized experience to your customers.
