Whether you’re spending this summer staring at a screen or enjoying the sun’s bright rays, do it in style with a pair of Amazon Echo Frames, on sale now for $150 off the retail cost.

Designed to offer a hands-free Alexa experience, the Bluetooth specs launched in 2020, enabling wearers to make phone calls, set reminders, listen to music, read notifications, and more—directly from their face.

Echo Frames’ open-ear audio tech, nestled into the temples, directs sound to the user’s ear holes, so they can join a conference call, catch up with a friend, or even drop in to connected Alexa-enabled devices without distracting from surroundings like vehicular traffic.

The same goes for listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks, all easily controlled with a simple “Alexa, next” or “Alexa, previous” voice command. And, turn on Auto Volume Control to have your Echo Frames adjust playback based on environmental noise.

The original prescription-ready frames ($99.99—60% off the $249.99 MSRP) come with clear lenses that can be popped out and replaced by an optician. For those with 20/20 vision, Amazon last year introduced blue-light-filtering and sunglass options ($119.99—56% off the $269.99 MSRP). Take your pick of four colors (black, tortoise, blue, gray) and two polarized tints (classic or blue mirror).

Amazon’s smart glasses access information on the go: from food pickup and delivery options or directions to the closest ATM, to local weather reports and the nearest coffee shop. Alexa can also check your calendar, reorder pet food, set timers, or remind you to stand up and stretch once in a while.

There’s no mini-digital display in the lenses, so don’t expect an augmented reality overlay experience. Instead, four built-in microphones let you stay connected when you want and power down when you don’t; double-press the action button at the bottom of the right temple to turn the mics off, indicated by a red light.

Grab a pair (or two) of Amazon Echo Frames smart specs—$99.99 (prescription-ready) or $119.99 (blue-light filtering or sunglasses)—in what amounts to a buy-one-get-one-free sale, considering you’re saving $150 on any set you choose.
