User reviews
Like this unit over others I have tried. Purchased this to replace one that the rear camera went out on. Was a bit leery of (renewed) but came like new condition. Works well and I like this user interface over others I have used. I use the hardwired feature as you can program for parking situations as well as a low battery shut off - a bit of a pain to wire if you in cabin fuse panel does not have a slot that is only live when key is on as you will have to wire to fuse block in engine compartment (vehicle dependent though).Overall good picture quality and field of view both front and rear.
One of the best Dash Cams On The Market Today. We use these cameras in our commercial vehicles. The employees KNOW that we have access not only to the video, but to their speed, location and other driving factors that many other cameras do not offer. The GPS antenna is attached to the front windshield and offers a constant reminder that their speed and location is documented. To retrieve this information, simply connect your phone to the camera (within approximately 20 feet), or insert the memory card into your computer. Then you can see everything. The front and rear video quality is excellent. This camera is a good value for the money.
Great dash cam. Very easy to install in 2021 Dodge Challenger widebody 392! Lots of install video's out there to hardwire and f200 pro is the best dash cam I’ve had for the money! So many features and great reviews! Highly recommended to have in any car!
Good Work. I'm very satisfied, I had the old version before, it's much better.
Parking mode sucks. I bought this dash for car vandalism. It's not worth it at all. It skips hours of recording making it hard to catch the person and drains my car battery.
The best dash cam ever. Just what I wantIt is so easy to install
Good camera. Fast setting up
It’s portable and not bulky. Working now as it it still new for me. I like it though as it’s cute. Will recommend for friends and family.
Having to reconnect to the wifi every time, even on the same trip. You have to start from scratch to connect your dash cam to your phone.

Great item as advertised. Delivery was great to my Apt Front door - This is the second Thinkware Dashcam I have purchased - I`m replacing one older unit that the rear Cam does not work anymore - Lasted for Many years - could have it repaired but decided to upgrade to a newer model - R. Stewart
Awesome dashcam. The media could not be loaded. Great camera. High quality and very well made. This is the camera that Ford sells directly from their accessories. That being said this is OEM quality nice picture and works great. Has a great PC viewer app (in my video) that you can watch both front and rear camera at the same time as well as an app for iPhone or android to control camera settings and watch video. Very easy to install and looks functional and professional. Comes with a hard wiring kit with plenty of wire as well as cigarette lighter plug and GPS for speed and location. Awesome value for the money. I recommend this product.
Live view doesn’t work, app lags, sounds are annoying. While the dash cam seems to otherwise work and connect with the app, doing anything in the app is SLOW and the live view option simply doesn’t work. Cam also makes a lot of unnecessary noise that isn’t a huge deal, but personally I find annoying. It talks when the car turns on, beeps randomly but often.Could be worse at the price point, I guess, but it could be better too. I miss my old dash cam.
Missing seconds when manual recording. There is a few seconds of recording missing when you press manual recording. Vital seconds. Also, the unit runs very hot. Even when it is not hot in the vehicle. Except it to last no more than a year before it craps out. On my third one.It is still the best dash cam I have found at a reasonable price.
Nice dashcam, but app dependent. I ordered this, needing a new dashcam for my mom's car. This dashcam is a solid choice for anyone seeking reliable, high-quality footage. The image clarity is exceptional, capturing even the smallest details in various lighting conditions. Its feature set is impressive, offering a range of customization options to suit different driving styles and preferences. The inclusion of GPS is a definite plus, providing accurate speed and location data. Its easy enough for my mom to use as well. While the dashcam's construction and mounting options are top-notch, its power connector proved to be a minor inconvenience. The lack of a standard USB connection required additional wiring, which added unnecessary complexity to the installation process. Additionally, relying on an app for certain functions might be frustrating for those who prefer a standalone device.Overall, this dashcam offers excellent performance and a robust feature set. If you can overlook the power connector and app dependency, it's a worthwhile investment for peace of mind on the road.
works great. works great
This is my 3rd set. This is my 3rd set, for the cars of my kids, cheap and reliable, Thinkware is being in my family for years!
App issues. Not happy with how slow it is when looking at recordings through the app.

Great Dash Cam for Everyday Use. This dash cam has been a solid addition to my car. The video quality is clear and reliable, both during the day and at night. It captures everything you need with its wide-angle lens and handles low-light conditions really well.Setup was quick and easy, and it doesn't get in the way while driving. The loop recording feature is great, so I never have to worry about managing storage, and the G-sensor ensures important moments are saved.Overall, it's a dependable dash cam that's simple to use and perfect for everyday driving. Highly recommend!
It’s clunky at first. I had an auto store install it for me. It’s a little clunky at first to use it. Make sure you download the app. The app is not user-friendly. And you have to disc from the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on your car in order to get onto the camera. But after a little bit of learning curve, it turns out it’s pretty good. The image and quality of the pictures is relatively impressive.
Much improved from previous models/app. I have an older Thinkware dash cam and decided to give them another try. The camera was always solid, but the app was a joke. Not a huge deal because I just took the card out and manually grabbed files when I wanted them. This version with their new app is much better, but still not an amazing app. Everything works as expected, video access is simple, and the video quality is still good. Just isn't very intuitive what they set in the options. It has an included rear camera as well which I didn't have before, perfect to run to the back of a crew cab truck rear window. I'd get this model again just for the video quality and video that records every time without thinking about it. Never had to use it for anything major yet, but I've looked at a few crazy drivers on playback, got everything I wanted to see.
Great product. This dash cam just launched this year so it has the newest technology. I am satisfied with the performance and quality.Easy to installI found the user manual in the support section of the Thinkware Link app, followed it and installed in a short amount of time.Easy to connect to the app.Clicked the WiFi icon on the screen, scanned the QR code shown with the Thinkware Link app, connected!Smart driving alerts (recommendedFront vehicle departure warning and Traffic signal alert features are really convenient. The response time of both features are fast and alerts you right away. It notifies you when the signal changes and when the vehicle in front of you starts to drive off. I tend to get distracted easily when driving. The drivers behind can thank Thinkware for offering these features in their dash cams.Comes with a memory card.It is kind of nice that Thinkware included a memory card, most of the other brands don't come with one. 32GB of memory isn't a lot but at least I didn't have to hassle in buying one separately.I will update this review in a few months after I get in some use.
My Honest Review. [Updated on 10/12/24]Customer service finally gave me an answer (after about 3 months I submitted my initial complaint). They told me to turn off night vision, and they had no other solution. But I’ve already turned it off, and I still could not record license plates at night. What is the point of advertising “super night vision” if you’re saying not to use it? Basically, this is a product that they cannot fix.—————————————[My Original Review]I have tried many dashcams through the years. I have tried from $50 entry dashcams to the more expensive Starvis 2 sensor ones. I was not happy with the cheaper ones due to poor image quality. The ones with the latest Sony’s image sensor were a little better, but they did not justify the high pricetag. Also, the great reviews online about their capability to capture license plates at night — I learned you should take those with a grain of salt. Then I decided to go another direction. I decided to give the Arc, which is Thinkware’s new mid-level product, a try. Here are some things I have found after using this product extensively over the past 4 months.Pros:1. Good daytime images for front AND rear cameras.2. Reliable motion detection and impact recording with trademark beep sound3. Energy saving parking mode4. Useful ADAS feature which alerts you when signal turns green or the car ahead of you is leaving. Also warns you of red light cameras. I love this feature. It is somewhat accurate and immediately gives notifications.5. Nice blinking LED security light in motion parking mode.(you can also turn it off)6. Connects to your phone via WIFI so you can view recordings or change settings.7. Rear camera image quality during the day is as good as the front.8. Comes with a hardwire kit9. Sensitive sensors (you can adjust the sensitivity) — assures even minor impacts will be detected10. Beautiful designCons:1. The touch screen won’t respond many times2. The rear camera orientation won’t reverse in the app so you need to install it correctly the first time3. This could be a deal-breaker: Night recording tends to be blurry or over-exposed, making it almost impossible to read any license plates at night. The rear camera is even worse.4. Volume (female system voice) is annoyingly loud even on the lowest setting.5. Need to turn carplay off to connect to phone.6. The dashcam body consistently remains very hot when it is on, even during parking mode. I am worried if the circuits will withstand the heat longterm.7. Thinkware’s dashcam viewer app for Mac has issues. Also, it is recorded in km per hour, not mph even when you adjust the settings.8. Battery low warning comes on my car after 1 or 2 days continuously parked in parking mode.9. No option to turn on security LED lights during energy saving parking mode. Also, no LED light function at all on the rear camera.10. Terrible customer support. It’s been 2-3 months since I asked them for help because night recording are so blurry, but all they did was keep asking me to send sample recordings to them. I responded to all their requests and sent many footages, but they suddenly stopped responding to me. They are not responding to me at all after having me send so many of my recordings. I have not seen such disrespect from any company. Looked like they wanted to keep me only until the return period ended. This dashcam’s night time image quality is very poor and has serious issues. It’s basically night and day (no pun intended). I would not recommend this dashcam if you drive at night or want to use parking mode at night since license plate recognition is so poor that it is inlikely to capture any license plate numbers in an accident. Your headlights will over-expose any license plates in front and any darkness will blur it out — nothing in between. What’s the point of having a dashcam when it can’t read a license plate 3 feet in front of you? I have tested other cheaper dashcams and they had better night recordings than this. There are features like the ADAS feature which alerts you when the signal turns green. Or security blinking LED lights which many other brands don’t have. But there are too many cons. It was even frustrating just to set the time correctly since the Arc dashcam uses some weird time zone system. Overall, the Arc dashcam kind of feels like it’s unpolished which is why I regret buying this dashcam. I have lost all credibility in Thinkware. I have reached out to Thinkware and asked for assistance on these issues, and they still haven’t provided any real solution yet for 2 months now. They kept telling me “rest assured we will support you.” But as soon as my return window closed, they stopped replying. I was hoping Thinkware’s engineers would develop a firmware or software update to improve all or any of these issues I’ve mentioned above. But, now I don’t expect it will ever happen. I feel I’ve been tricked to keep this product and not be able to return it since the deadline passed. My Final verdict: I do not recommend this product or the brand.
Thinkware ARC Dash Cam - well-designed and compact dashcam. This well-designed and compact dashcam features an interactive touch screen with no lag. It includes a free SD card and excels at recording in 2K. Downloading footage using the mobile app is straightforward. I highly recommend this dashcam to anyone in need of reliable and high-quality recording on the road.
needs better method to connect. Only been using for about 1 month. I have owned a different camera from this maker. Enjoy the utility of both styles. The negative part of this Arc style is connecting my phone to it. The wifi system is rather clunky to get things to connect. The only method I've found is using the QR code which can be frustrating to get your cell camera to focus on the tiny sized QR code on the mini screen. The older style camera I had, would allow you to search for a wifi broadcasted ID, which doesn't seem to exist for the Arc camera.
I decided to get this dash cam after my friend was in an accident because I wanted it to help me with any insurance claims in the future. The video quality is great, I love the sleek design and the LCD touchscreen was intuitive and responsive, making it easy to use.The camera was simple to install after reading the instructions and watching videos online. The most time consuming part is hiding the wires. At first, I found connecting to the WiFi to be difficult, but after re-reading the instructions on how to connect, I realized that I was scanning the QR code incorrectly. At first, I was scanning the QR code with my camera, but you are suppose to scan the QR code in the mobile app. After realizing that, it was simple to connect to the settings and WiFi to view my videos. While the price is a little higher than other dash cams I was looking at, it is worth it due to the diverse built-in safety and smart driving alerts and the peace of mind it provides me while I’m driving. I highly recommend it!
happy with the purchase so far, nice amount of options.
I've done a lot of research, I wanted a solid dash cam that didn't break the bank. This is the best bundle I've seen as you get pretty much everything you need to install it. It's good quality and I'm sure it will last a long time. The picture quality is perfect, especially at night.
Installed a 2023 CX-50. Dash cam looks great and operates very well. Video quality is decent and Parking mode works great. Happy with my purchase.
Small but works well, Good video quality with 2K resolution, Easy to install, Straightforward with the LCD screen.

Vantrue N4 Pro Dash Cam Review. I’ve been using the Vantrue N4 Pro for a few weeks now, and I must say that I am impressed with its performance and features. As someone who values safety and clear video documentation, this dash cam checks off all the boxes. The N4 Pro covers the front, interior, and rear, which is great for full coverage. The 4K front camera delivers crystal-clear footage, and the rear and interior cameras are equally impressive in their resolution. The night performance also exceeding my expectations with nice clear images. The installation and setup was straightforward, and the menu navigation is easy to understand. While the camera does not come with an SD card it does support up to 512GB SD cards, which is great for extended recording without constant transfers. The device itself feels solid and well-built. The 3m double sided tape holds great, even on rough roads and you can easily remove the camera itself from the mount if needed. One thing that I wish I looked at more or that maybe was part of the overall mounting instructions is to keep in mind where you mount it. I mounted mine on the drivers side, to the left of the rearview mirror but now when I lower my sun visor it hits the camera and therefore doesn't go all the way up against the window thus blocking a little bit of my view.Final thoughts -The Vantrue N4 Pro is an excellent investment for anyone serious about vehicle safety and comprehensive recording. Whether you're a commuter, or just someone who wants peace of mind on the road, this dash cam is a fantastic choice. I would definitely recommend and we are looking at purchasing another unit for our other vehicle.
Huge upgrade over my old garmin dash cam. This dashcam was really easy to install. I got the hardwire kit so I could hide the wires and free up the 12V outlet in my car. That kit takes a little more work to install but nothing a little patience can't get you through. The next hardest part is probably the rear camera, if you have a vehicle with a rear hatch/hinge you will have to find a way to route the cable through there and it can be a hassle but if you just have a standard sedan you just route the cable between the headliner and the weather stripping on your car, ez pz. The camera itself is awesome, the video quality is very clear and the app connectivity was very easy to use. No bugginess or issues for me. I was able to transfer videos to my phone for review very easily it only took about a minute to download a video as well. I also love the 3 channel camera setup, it gives me peace of mind to know all angles are covered in case I were to get in some kind of accident. Even the non-main cameras still had really great quality and clarity. If I had one critique it'd only be of the time-lapse function. I went on a short road trip during the fall hoping to capture the leaves changing and used this feature to try and make a cool little video. The timelapse feature works but it still breaks the video down into several smaller files instead of one long one. If I wanted to make a full timelapse video for myself I'd have to individually download the 100+ video segments it made over the 8-10 hours of driving and piece them together. It'd be nice if, while in timelapse mode, the camera output just one long (condensed) timelapse file to download. Mayber there is a way to do this already but I didn't see it easily in the settings. I won't knock the camera itself for this as this is really just an extra feature that isn't as important to me as the main function of the camera, which is more so to protect myself in the event of an accident.Overall I'd recommend this camera, I've had a garmin dashcam in the past and it had issues with overheating and the app connectivity was an absolutely terrible experience. This is definitely an upgrade for me and I'd say one of the best dash cam options on the market at the moement.
Vantrue N4 Pro - Great Full Featured Dash Cam. The media could not be loaded. Cutting to the chase, the Vantrue N4 Pro is a fantastic dash cam, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. I wanted to highlight a few things I’ve noticed and appreciate while using this device.First and foremost, make sure to update the firmware. There are always improvements after the initial release, and keeping the firmware up-to-date ensures you're getting the best performance. Also, as a self-proclaimed computer nerd, I can't stress enough—read the manual! Several negative reviews I’ve seen seem to stem from users not fully understanding the camera’s features, and that’s easily avoidable by familiarizing yourself with the manual. (Trust me, it’s worth it!)Now, the video quality is excellent. The front camera records up to 4K, while both the interior and rear cameras capture in 1080P HD. The setup and installation are relatively simple, but you should come prepared with a plan for installation. Personally, I wanted to make sure I could use all of the features, which meant I had to purchase a hard-wire kit to keep the camera powered even when my car is off. If you’re not into hard-wiring, it also comes with a cigarette adapter. The camera offers a couple of important parking security features. The first is motion detection to capture any suspicious activity, and the second is collision detection for hit-and-runs. Both of these features are customizable, allowing you to adjust sensitivity levels to suit your needs. The real standout, though, is the 10-second buffer that continuously records in a loop. This means that if the camera is triggered, it captures the moments leading up to an event, not just the aftermath. This is especially useful for events like hit-and-runs, where you want to catch the person responsible before they drive off. I know a coworker who had an incident where the lack of this feature in her dash cam led to a driver getting away after hitting her car.Another feature I really like is the ability to connect the camera to my phone via the Vantrue app. This allows you to review footage without removing the memory card. I didn’t have any trouble connecting the camera to the app—just turn on the camera’s WiFi, join the network, and you’re good to go. You can view captured footage right on your phone, download it directly to your library, and share it easily. The magnetic camera mount also makes it super simple to take the camera off and connect it to your computer. I also appreciate that you can configure the camera directly from the app, rather than messing with the camera's menu on the device itself. For reviewing footage on your computer, Vantrue has a great dash cam video player that lets you configure it to show different camera perspectives simultaneously. A few nice touches include the ability to extract snippets of video or still frames. Viewing the video on the computer really highlights the camera’s quality, particularly in low-light conditions. I was pleasantly surprised by how much detail it captured in dimly lit areas. The colors in the footage, like the vibrant bridge crossing in Long Beach, really pop. Even daytime footage is bright and crisp, and transitions from dim tunnels to bright daylight are seamless without appearing overexposed. In conclusion, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the N4 Pro. It’s clear that Vantrue has put a lot of thought into delivering a high-quality product. From the built-in GPS to how everything is thoughtfully packaged, it’s clear they’ve gone the extra mile. There are even additional features I haven’t mentioned here, all of which speak to the attention to detail. If you’re in the market for a well-built, feature-packed dash cam, the Vantrue N4 Pro should be at the top of your list.
The Vantrue N4 Pro 3 Channel 4K Dash Cam is the best dashcam I've ever owned. Having upgraded from the Vantrue X4S, the difference is night and day, especially in terms of connectivity, video quality, and reliability.First off, the 4K front camera, coupled with 1080P interior and rear cameras, offers great clarity. The STARVIS 2 Night Vision technology provides surprisingly good footage in low-light conditions; I was really surprised by the clarity. So no matter the time of day, N4 Pro captures everything in great detail, including crucial elements like license plates—exactly what you'd expect from a premium dash cam.One of the most significant improvements over my previous X4S model is the Wi-Fi connectivity. The N4 Pro maintains a solid connection with the app, and the app itself is incredibly user-friendly. I can easily download footage directly to my phone right after any incident without having to fumble around in the settings, which is a lifesaver when you need instant access to evidence. The other week, I witnessed an accident, and thanks to this dash cam, I was able to capture clear, reliable footage without any hassle.Another major plus is the GPS functionality. Unlike the X4S, which struggled with location accuracy (often thinking I was in Britain), the N4 Pro nails both location and speed tracking. It gives real-time, accurate data for every trip, which is great for when reviewing footage and ensuring all details are captured correctly.OKAY, THE ONE DOWNSIDE! - the N4 Pro does run warm, and at first, I was concerned about potential overheating (as others here have suggested). To address this, I turned on the setting that automatically turns off the LCD screen 30 seconds after the car starts. This has kept the device cool during the summer months, and I actually prefer driving with the screen off to avoid any distractions. If you ever need the screen back on, a quick press of a button will reactivate it.Compared to other dash cams on the market, the Vantrue N4 Pro stands out for its reliability, excellent video quality, and robust features. The 4K resolution, superior night vision and accurate GPS tracking, makes it a top-tier choice for anyone serious about road safety. While there are other high-end dash cams available, very few offer the trifecta of front, interior, and rear coverage with such clarity and ease of use.In summary, the Vantrue N4 Pro is a must-have for any driver looking for peace of mind on the road. It’s a significant step up from previous models, and it easily outshines many of its competitors. Highly recommended! Even with the downside of it running hot with the LCD screen on, I still believe it is 5 stars since I was able to figure out how to circumvent it from overheating and I don't need the LCD screen on while driving.
I have used many dash cams before. The more recent one was Nextbase 522GW Front Dash and Rear Windows Camera which are average quality only and kept giving me issues such as poor connectivity. Vantrue N4 Pro 3 channel 4K front and rear dash cam are clear winner in almost all aspects. The 4k image quality of the videos are exceptional. Connectivity with my mobile phone is always smooth. Lots of configurations available to suit my specific preferences. I love these Vantrue cams so much that we bought another set for another car after the first week of using the first set. I think the price-performance ratio is very high. The packaging is very high quality, which included everything I need and a very detailed instructions booklet inside (which is good for people of old school like me) though you could download it online. I bought the Ventrue hardwire kit too in order to provide constant power for parking surveillance while giving smart low voltage protection. Overall, Ventrue N4 Pro is a premium product at very reasonable price. Will definitely recommend it to my friends.Besides the quality of the product, their Customer Service Team is also exceptional. I messed something up myself by accident so I raised an issue to their team. Liki from the team was very responsive, efficient and helpful, who addressed my issue immediately. I'm super happy with the overall experience.
I was looking for a dashcam system to upgrade my old single channel dashcam. This dashcam system suited my needs. The 3 channels provides complete coverage in the front, back, and the inside with excellent video quality in both day and night. Been using it for a few days and all I can say is that I'm impressed. Comes with lots of features, like GPS and voice control. Voice control is pretty responsive, but sometimes might not pick up the command. Not a big issue though since I don't use the voice control that much.Connecting to the dashcam via the app is really simple. Although the dashcam has a screen, the live preview from the phone made setting up the dashcam position so much easier. Easily view and download the video clips from the app, and downloading clips over the 5GHz wifi is quite quick too. All the settings can also be set from the app, which makes changing settings so much easier than setting on the dashcam itself (though you can still do that). This dashcam will record 3 separate files (front, rear, and cabin), so be sure to get a large memory card. You might think you don't need a interior cabin camera, but let me tell you, the interior cabin camera is not just for rideshare drivers. Sometimes the police can make mistakes and might accuse you of something you didn't do. But you need evidence to prove your innocence. If the police pulls you over because they think you were looking at your phone while driving but you were not, then you have video proof from the cabin camera proving you were not on your phone. The interior cabin camera angle is wide enough to capture the movements of the driver and passenger, and even backseat passengers (depending on where you install it). Or if the police says you or your passenger weren't wearing your/their seatbelt when you/they actually were, then you have video proof of that as well. Or if you get robbed in the car, you have video of the criminal's face. These things can be hard to prove in court, so having video evidence here will be very useful. Having been burned before because I didn't have interior camera to record my actions to prove myself innocent, I cannot stress enough the importance of protecting yourself these days, whether from the police or from other cars or people, and having this dashcam system will be super useful in proving your innocence.Only con I have about this is the slow start up. It takes maybe about 7-8 seconds after starting the car and the power port becomes active before the dashcam will boot up. Not a big problem for me though.Overall, a great dashcam with excellent quality and features, and I'm happy that I've invested in this dashcam to give me the peace of mind knowing I have protection in case an incident happens. You cannot go wrong with this dashcam.
An update on this camera now I have had it some time.As others have mentioned it runs very hot indeed - so hot I could not handle it today when it fell off the screen. This has been a repeated problem with the front camera which is incredibly heavy as I feared for the small footprint of the adhesive pads. I have purchased top quality pads, cleaned all surfaces but as soon as there is any warm weather the pads fail and it falls off.The wifi link is excellent - but always download what you need soon as you can.Because once an update is due it resets everything back to factory settings and all has to be reprogrammed - loosing what ever was on the card. The camera quality is very good but there is definately a need for a suction cup which is a lot more robust to hold it to the window. None of the other holders from earlier models will fit as they have different pin configuration. At the moment got no solution to safely place it in the car.The item arrived very well packaged and it took minimal time to have it hardwired to my Jeep. The front unit initially felt a lot heavier than I expected and I was concerned maybe the pads supplied would not be strong enough. That concern was soon forgotten as the camera fixed very firmly in place.I downloaded the free app and soon had my android phone and the camera talking to each other.A quick upgrade was transferred with really zero tech knowledge needed and it rebooted itself. We made a personal choice not to have the cabin camera on, just front and rear. But if you have young people in the family driving this is a great additional safety aspect. The quality I have found has been excellent, and I see some reviews have been critical of the ability to get number plates.Personally not had that issue - and the quality of the photo has allowed me to zoom in.As with all cameras clean glass, and the weather - sunshine have unavoidable impact but overall I have been very impressed. The app is clean and tidy. Easy to use and offers easy ways to alter the main settings.Playback of the videos also has the option to have a split screen showing your position on a map as you travel.Lot of additional GPS - Positioning and vehicle data also available.I found the voice commands easy to use. One thing I did realize is that if you use the command ‘take photo’ don’t forget if you are driving the object is also moving closer or further away. I experimented a couple of times driving and due to my speed we passed before it captured the event. But it was on the video clip. This has given my wife and I great peace of mind. We have seen a significant increase in out of Province and new drivers in eastern Canada, and at least we know that we will have a copy of the event to help should anything happen. Highly recommended - high quality and does exactly what the manufacturers say.
I don’t normally write a lot of reviews on products but I felt I so happy about my purchase of N4Pro to install in my new Nissan Ariya that I had to share my thoughts with my fellow Amazon customers in the market for a dashcam. I’m extremely ecstatic that I purchased this particular name brand after looking at a few other manufacturers. Since my Ariya is a EV I was advised to hook it up to an external battery for the fear of having the vehicle 12V battery drain out during the parking mode. First of all the N4Pro was carefully packaged & all the parts were easy to find & the installation was a breeze, I just followed the instructions in the manual & every thing worked out perfectly. After installing the front camera on the windshield with the supplied two way tape and I used the tool provided to tuck the wiring behind the windshield moulding then above the doors to the rear camera on the hatch door. The external battery was placed under the passenger seat & plugged into the cigarette lighter. I’m very pleased with the quality of the video being recorded, crisp sharp & beautifully focused not only during daylight but I would say the nighttime video is what sets this dashcam apart from my previous dashcams. The built in wifi allows me to review the video footage on the Vantrue app without touching the camera. Basically I purchased the N4Pro because I wanted to have the ability to record any future accidents to verify the facts instead of the made up nonsense of the other person involved in the incident. One of the most useful feature is the parking mode which allows the camera to start recording any movement or an impact to the vehicle from all angles while the vehicle is stationary. Another feature that I like is the audio control system I can use to command the camera to record a video or take a still photo of the scenery on my journey. I only wish Vantrue would include a micro sd card in the box so I don’t have to worry about purchasing it from Amazon. I chose the more expensive 256 gb Vantrue sd card instead of a cheaper no brand which may not be compatible for this unit. Finally I want to offer my opinion to anyone looking to buy a dashcam. I would definitely recommend N4Pro for your vehicle as this unit is a high quality dashcam you can’t go wrong with.

Great Cam and a Great Price! Packed with features. We purchased the F7N Redtiger camera about 18 months ago and it has now paid for itself 100x over when it provided evidence to the police and insurance that my wife was not the one at fault in an accident that totaled her vehicle and the other party lied to the police. My wife was going to get the ticket after the officer talked to the other party first, but she was able to show the officer the cam video and they reversed course and issued the ticket to the other party. Then the other party lied to their insurance, but after providing the video to their insurance, the adjuster immediately accepted 100% responsibility.Easy to install and with clearly written English instructions. Great suction cup with integrated GPS antenna makes installation a breeze. Cam will slide off mount if you want to hide it while parked without removing the entire mount. Crystal clear video, front at 4k and back at 2k, produce high resolution video where you can read license plates and even identify who was driving another vehicle.Even more importantly, it has a good app that you can use to directly download video from the cam without pulling the card and taking it to a computer. Just in case you are in an accident, you can instantly download the relevant video to your phone and show to Law Enforcement and e-mail to your insurance company. This is hugely important so a ticket can be issued to the at-fault party on scene as my wife did. If you can't show the officer when writing the report, they may issue the ticket to the wrong party or no one if they can't figure out who was at fault. If this happens, it's a long up-hill battle to get the other party's insurance to pay out and the police will never cancel an incorrectly issued ticket, so it forces you to go to court to defend yourself. If you are in a serious accident (if anyone goes to the hospital, it's serious), the officer may confiscate the SD card or even the whole camera for evidence. You may not get it back for weeks or even months. Sometimes they get lost an then you have nothing. Have a copy safely on your phone so you can give it to your insurance company and lawyer immediately!Buy the REDTIGER F7N Dash Cam Hardwire Kit to go with it if you want 24/7 monitoring without killing your car battery. Never wonder who backed into you in a parking lot or keyed your car if it happens to you. Some things that set Redtiger apart from the others:They actually have tech support. We had an issue with one camera not liking our SD card and contacted support to see if we had a bum Cam or bad setting as the issue was intermittent. Turns out it was just a faulty card after running a write test on the computer. Not a big issue as SD cards are cheap, but good to know that if you have an issue that Redtiger does support what they sell.Software updates. We've owned the F7N for about 18 months and have received software updates to improve functionality. The cam was great when we got it and even better now with new features added.Proof in the pudding:We liked our F7N so much we just bought another Redtiger cam, a F7N Touch, for a new (to us) vehicle and it's great too.Note: I wasn't paid for this review nor given a demo unit or anything else. I'm only a satisfied customer that is enjoying the premium quality and features at a great price vs the big-name competitors and their high prices.
REDTIGER F7N TOUCH 4K Ultra Clear 5.8G WiFi Voice Control Dash-Cam. Received the F7N TOUCH Dash-Cam on 11/6/24 and installed it on 11/7/24. I am very pleased with this dash-cam.Here are some of the features that I am really pleased with so far:TOUCH SCREEN: Makes it easy to navigate and select the different features programmed in this dash-cam.VOICE CONTROL: Makes it easy to access and control the various features of this dash-cam. I especially like that you can just say “Turn on WiFi” and the cam will activate the WiFi. The camera powers on automatically once you turn on your vehicle and when you use the voice control and say “Turn on WiFi”, wait until you see “WiFi Connected” on the dash-cam and the camera will then connect automatically to the mobile app as well.REDTIGER MOBILE APP: The mobile app feature is extremely helpful and user friendly. You can control many of the dash-cam’s features through the mobile app including, but not limited to, switching the dash-cam’s front/rear/split screen views.CAMERA CLARITY: The front and rear camera’s offer crystal clear views.INSTALLATION: Installation is not difficult. I was actually up for the challenge of installing this myself. Included with the dash-cam is a plastic crowbar/spatula type tool for installing/running the two provided cables (power cable and rear camera cable). The tool allows you to run the cables through the windshield’s front top edges of the vehicle headliner and along the interior rubber window trim, as well as inserting the cables through the vehicles interior plastic pillars. I ran the power cable through the right side of the headliner and rubber trim, and ran the rear camera cable on the left side of the headliner, rubber trim and interior plastic pillars. I was able to achieve clean and professional results in my installation.WORD TO THE WISE: Heed the warning in the manual. Be sure to turn the dash-cam on ONLY after you have connected both the front AND rear cameras. DO NOT turn the camera on otherwise until BOTH camera’s are connected.CONCLUSION: The F7N TOUCH Dash-Cam is a very, very good product. REDTIGER’s customer service is also attentive, courteous and responsive. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a dash-cam that is easy to install, user friendly, reliable, and offers many features.
I’ve been using this dashcam for a while, and it’s been great. The video quality is sharp, even at night, and it was super easy to set up. The adhesive holds really well, and the screen is clear and simple to use. Overall, it’s reliable and works exactly as I hoped. Definitely worth it!
Fácil de instalar, fácil de usar, fácil de descargar aplicación, excelente calidad del video y audio. No dudes en adquirir.

Exceptional Product Quality and User Experience. I recently purchased two ROVE R2-4K DUAL dash cams for my SUV and sedan, and I am absolutely thrilled with their performance. The video quality is outstanding for both the front and rear cameras, capturing clear and detailed footage. The mobile app is a standout feature. It's incredibly user-friendly and makes it a breeze to control the camera settings and download videos. Speaking of downloading, the speed at which videos transfer from the camera to my phone is lightning fast!I had a couple of questions about the product settings and reached out to customer service via email. They were incredibly responsive and helpful. What really impressed me was the attention to detail in the packaging. Unlike many electronics manufacturers today, ROVE provides a complete package with everything you need: an SD card, a detailed instruction booklet, installation tools, and even an extra data cable. It's clear that ROVE prioritizes customer satisfaction.Overall The ROVE R2-4K DUAL dash cam is an excellent product that offers exceptional video quality, a user-friendly app, and top-notch customer support. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and feature-rich dash cam.
I Love it. I have used dash cams since an insurance scam took my Mercedes from me in 2012. I purchased this to replace an over priced junky dashcam and this dash cam works wonderfully!! It’s easy to setup, all the features work, saving events is EASY and recalling them through the app is a breeze! Saving the events to your phone is FAST, unlike other dash cams. I’m very happy with this purchase. I ordered the hardwire kit separately and the parking monitor works really great too. Picture quality is fabulous on both the front and rear cams. It works great, does what it’s supposed too, isn’t terribly expensive and is EASY to use. You might like it too.
Decent dash cam. Image quality I would say is decent, but still not on par with the action cameras around the same price point. What works is being able to lock videos and having a slight overlap of one saved video to the next so there is no missing second while it starts a new file. With the hardwire kit installed, a very clean and tidy installation is quite possible. The polarizer makes a huge difference to get rid of windshield glare, but need to set exposure a little brighter to make up for it.Over all I am pleased with the purchase, even if it was a bit more pricey than I had planned to spend to capture the crazy drivers around these parts.A few nitpicks below.Wi-Fi connection sometimes fails, but not often enough to complain about. The screen is bright enough, but can't be seen with polarized sunglasses on. If you have the screen saver on, it takes two button presses to get it to lock video. No way to mirror the video of rear camera. The voice assistance is annoying but at least it can be turned off. If you have parking mode enabled and you plug in USB to transfer videos to PC, it only turns on in parking mode and will power off in a minute, even if USB transfer is selected. All but the polarized glasses concerns could likely be addressed with a firmware update if they care to do so.
Impressive camera with fantastic documentation and features. Never write reviews, but I had to say - this camera has been a very pleasant experience.QualityThe video quality is crisp and clear. There is an option to record in H.265 compression mode for better quality and smaller file size.In terms of packaging and materials - the camera came extremely well packaged. Manuals, reference guides and quality materials make up the camera. The addition of the electrostatic film to avoid glue residue on the windshield is a nice touch! I’ve had other brands of dashcams in the past and would have loved to have had that option.InstallationHuge kudos to whomever wrote the user manual. It was very detailed, with well written instructions and clear photos. I was able to install the dashcam and the hardwire kit (sold separately) by following the instructions and never felt lost. Finding the right fuses to tap into took longer than the setup of the hardwire kit itself. So that’s high praise for the system and add-ons they offer!FeaturesGreat setting options for video recording, g-sensor sensitivity, parking mode options and connectivity (wifi). Downloading videos on the 5g WiFi was FAST! A key feature since the 4k video files do take up space. The downloaded files were easy to pull off the card and straight onto my phone. There’s definitely more to say, but in short - the camera delivered on the quality promised and I think the team behind it went above and beyond with the feature set and documentation, all for a great price.(Also - the note in the manual about getting hit twice and the camera being able to record it both times was a good laugh out loud moment) Thanks Rove!
Very good image quality. I just bough this 11/25/24… install took about 2 hours… i’m very happy with the front image quality… it’s very very clear compared to most cameras…. the 128gb SD card is not big enough… 3 min of video is 500mb, so I’ll only get 10 hours of recording on the 128 card… so I bought the 1tb card, which will give me about 100 hours of recording… the menu is simple and easy to navigate.. the wifi to download vids to phone is also simple and easy… i like the app…the camera is smaller than I thought which is good, I don’t want something bulky in my way… parking mode won’t work without the optional power adapter, which is $20… I might buy that later… biggest headache is running wire though interior mouldings to rear camera, but you have to do that with any rear camera… I’ve only had this thing for a few days, but I’ve had other systems and for the money (I spent $130 for camera, $170 for SD card, and $15 for supplies), it’s a very good value.
Im impressed by the quality and simplicity of this setup. I perched the hardwired kit from Rove and I think it is a better way to go. I installed the camera kit in a Sorento 2025. the provide wire for the rear camera in the ward-wire kit is adequate length by fishing the wire underneath the scuff plate without removing trim. Everything you need comes in the kit. Even the fuse holder that works flawlessly and rapidly. I was amazed by the small multimeter/test light being provided in the hard-wired kit the work like a charm. Great quality video with the front and the rear camera. The Rove app is user friendly and you do not need university degree to be able to navigate and setting up all the parameters via your phone. Whit the built in wifi it is easy to access your footage in case of emergency or provide as proof of imbecility of other drivers 😇. The built in gps provides precise positioning wen properly enter the gps tine zone.
small and easy to install
Quality of product is 10/10Design is super slick.Included accessories also great, it gives you 2 choices of mounts for the front camera and 2 sizes of cable for the front as well.Well condensed instructions and very readable.Video quality is good, rear camera is 1080p and front is 4k.There is a noticeable frame rate since it's set to 30 fps (which I believe is designed to provide functionality and file size management)I believe you can change this but I recommend getting the 512GB card for full bitrateValue for the money is really good. I got it on sale but I would have paid full price for this as well.It says that "the rear camera is not waterproof and is only designed to be mounted inside"Personally I wouldn't mount the front one outside but I guess it could be used on a motorcycle.
Item arrived at the time specified. Item was exactly as described. Works great. The video has really good quality and is easy to use.

THIS DASHCAM IS PERFECT IN NEARLY EVERY WAY. TL;DR - Please skip to ‘Pros and Cons’ if you only want the details.Let me start by saying that I spent almost two months searching for the perfect dash cam solution for my car. We recently had our first child, and I was determined in every way to make sure that she is as safe as she can be whenever we are on the roadways. Twice a week, I also have to commute 70 miles each way, which is about 90% interstate, and 10% city driving. After encountering two road rage incidents on the same day, I finally decided had enough. If something goes down, I want proof of the person(s) at fault.I’ve likely read every review and studied every device that Amazon sells, including Wolfbox and Pormido. I eventually ended up on r/dashcam on Reddit, which is where I finally struck gold. Reddit always cuts through the noise for me, and this time was no different. The overwhelming choice there for brand is Viofo. They claim that Viofo dash cams excel in every way, and so far, that has been my experience.Installation: The install is about as straightforward as it gets. You need to run the wire to any cameras that you want, except for the main camera, which is built into the main unit. If you only want a single camera facing ahead, there is no wiring necessary, unless you plan on hardwiring the unit to your car’s 12V system. If you intend to utilize ‘Parking Mode’, you will need to have access to both a constant +12V and an accessory +12V, and a ground/earth. I opted for the latter, as I would like my car to be under surveillance at all times. If you opt for only ‘Driving Mode’, it will be an even simpler install, but that will not allow you to record while away from the vehicle. I planned out my route for the rear camera, and ran the single USB-C to USB-C cable, using the provided trim tool. It is very simple in most cases to tuck the wire away behind the vehicle’s interior trim paneling. The tool, although I have my own, was actually very good quality.Setup: Again, it was entirely straightforward. You power it on, go through basic setup for language choice and whatnot, and then you’ll want to enable WiFi so that you can use your phone and the Viofo app to configure the rest of the settings. This *can* be done using the physical buttons on the device, but it is MUCH easier to do on the app. There are so many wonderful options, that using the device’s GUI, although well developed, would be too much to do on a small LCD screen. Take my advice and use the Viofo App. It’s available for iOS and Android. You’ll also want to large Micro SD card to store your recordings. I started with a 16GB Samsung that I already had, but even at normal quality and bitrate settings, it filled up at just 2 hours of recording. This device does have ‘Loop Recording’, but I didn’t choose to enable it. I am fine with deleting the recordings as it fills, as I would rather be sure to have the footage if I discover later that I captured an incident that I didn’t notice right away. Loop Recordings are limited to 10 minutes in length, and that just isn’t enough for me. After operating to the 256GB memory card, I was then able to increase the quality and bitrate setting to the maximum of 2K for the front and rear cameras, and still have plenty of space. I can record about 12 hours without having to delete anything.Image Quality: I immediately tested this device at night by driving around my city and county at 11PM. I wanted to try to capture license plates because, whenever I’m driving, I always have to try to memorize the license plate if something happens, and that is not always possible. When I returned home and checked the footage, I discovered that the STARVIS 2 lenses actually made the possible at night! If you capture a license plate of any car within 10’ or so of yours, you will be able to read the plates using the video footage. Of course, with the audio recording, if you can read it aloud, it will capture your voice in the recording. I am now in the habit of reading the plates aloud for that exact purpose. There was minimal to no glare from either camera, although I do think that I will be ordering the additional lenses for my front camera, as I have a very bright display in the car that is very visible in the recordings. I suppose that is the price you pay for having exceptional Sony Starvis 2 lenses- you WILL capture EVERYTHING. As far as just overall video quality, the 2K and 1080P quality images are exactly as they should be, which is crisp and free of imperfection. These Sony Starvis 2 lenses are something you just have to experience for yourself to understand. Knowing what I know now, I would never use a dash camera without them.Temperatures: The one thing I was most concerned about when I started researching these devices was the sheer amount of failure from the elements. The device you choose will be subjected to extreme heat and cold, and the device you choose absolutely MUST have protections in place for this. Luckily, Viofo planned for this and they use special capacitors and other electrical components inside to ensure that your device doesn’t fail as a result of direct sunlight, freezing and condensation, and overall interior and exterior cabin temps. This was actually my biggest factor in deciding on which brand to choose from. The fact that Viofo not only considered this, but placed extra special care and attention to it, was the ultimate deciding factor for me purchase it. I have already connected with their customer service, and they have been extremely helpful in answering all my questions. I haven’t had any issues, but I wanted to reach out to be sure that I could contact someone if I needed to.Value for money: I actually waited until a Flash Sale to purchase my A229 Plus, and I managed to catch it for $169! I have literally never made a faster and more urgent purchase! You will not find ANYTHING with this kind of quality and features for that price. If you can, wait for a sale and pounce! 🐅I have tested all the modes and everything works exactly as it should. If you have any questions about it, I would be happy to answer them. I will be monitoring this item for questions for the next couple of months or so, so if you just use Amazon’s product questions feature, I’ll see it and respond. I will also be updating this review every 3 months just to ensure that it’s working properly, and will include and issues and incidents that I encounter.PROS:• Price• Exceptional image quality• Night vision is amazing• Features• Ease of install• DurabilityCons:• Doesn’t include a hardwire kit or SD Card
Best Dash Cam I have used. This is so far the best dash cam I've used in my many years driving, the overall quality is exceptional and have not had any issues with it since I've got it. The double sided tape has been going strong even on the hotter days I've seen, so I don't think that's coming off anytime soon unless I rip it off.t does include several features that are extremely useful when I want to download the videos such as separating the ones that are locked by the G-force detector from normal videos, and wifi connectivity, which helps avoid the hassle of removing the sd card and sorting through videos on my computer. The camera and built in microphone quality are top notch, you can clearly see and hear everything even at night.Interface is really simple, there is a button in the center to lock a video in case you want to, so that's nice, used it a couple times so I can share something I saw on the road. The rear camera cable length is pretty much spot on for my car as well, not too long, not too short. I even had to route it through the hatch and that was pretty simple with the small connector. It does include voice commands, which I don't really use but my wife does love that on her unit.Overall a great investment if you need a dashcam. Would definitely recommend
Well designed, high quality hardware. First the downsides:SD card compatibility is a total hit or miss. Check forums or VIOFO's official compatibility list before buying an SD card. Can't update firmware through app.Mobile app is very lacking. Lots of options, but little documentation. Consistently times out, has random connectivity failures, and will display a single cached image thumbnail for every video making it confusing and hard to tell it's still requesting read time on the SD card to generate video previews as you scroll (ideally it would prioritize the files currently displayed as higher priority to render thumbnails for).Parking mode could use additional tweaking options and potentially zones/region exclusion and inclusions to avoid false events.Pros:5Ghz wifi chip (very fast wireless file transfers)Great image sensors, high quality captures when paired with a capable SD card.Unit does not run hot and seems very durable.Mounting adhesive and films are top quality.Form factor makes installation very clean when mounted at the top of the windshield, coupled with the 90 degree USB cable and top plug orientation.Rear camera cable is very generous in length and the rear camera is extremely light.Easy process to update firmware via SD card, but ideally would like to be able to do so through the app.Has multiple event detection methods.Voice control works well in a relatively normal sound environment.Customization of screen, LEDs, and alerts.Unit has a sliding lock mechanism to attach it to the base that is adhered to the windshield, making removal easy if in tight locations. All in all, a very good product for the price. There are many areas that can be easily improved on the software side, but as far as hardware is concerned... it is a good choice.
quality build, best video I've seen so far with the Sony 2 starvis sensor and polarized lens. I have 3 of these in different cars and they all work well. The set up is a bit tricky and you have to get a good high speed quality sd card but all 3 work flawlessly. The features are quite nice. My favorites are time lapse parking mode and superb video quality make This dash cam well worth the price. i've had a few cheap dash cams and my son has the a high end red tiger dash cam. However In my opinion the A229 Viofo dash cams a far better and come with an 18 month warranty (when registered) that can't be beat. Customer service seems really nice as well.
Overall Very Nice - App is Junk. Easy set-up front and rear cameras, easy to access menu and functions, clear video, but the WORST app. It connects to my iPhone but the app doesn't work. I probably don't need it but would be nice, just sayin'.
VIOFO’s dashcams are very good. It has strong image quality during the day and expected performance at night. It is intuitive to use and the feature set is good. You don’t need an anymore premium version than this.
Probably best in the market. Purchase it blindly.
After researching various dash cams on the market, I decided to buy this particular one, as Viofo A229 kept coming up as reliable dash cam. I really like that it was very easy to mount in the car (and I've never done it before), has both a front and rear camera, and has speech commands for several of the functions. The functions on the Viofo A229 are very easy to use as well. I have a Samsung 22 and I can easily access the digital files directly to my phone through wifi on the Viofo A229. The camera automatically turns on and off when the car starts/shuts off, and the video quality is excellent and clear. If you're on the fence about it, this product will be a great choice. After using this dash cam for a few weeks, I've even ordered one for my daughter as well.
Great Dash Cam at a Really good pricehighly recommend.
Opted for this as it has the starvis 2 sensor and was not disappointed. Video footage is clear and there has been no issues. Always trusted this brand and it has not let me down yet.

Great Dashcam. I was in the market to upgrade my Garmin Mini dash cam to a more sophisticated two-channel system. So far, I am very satisfied! The cameras were easy to install, and the front cam mounts well behind the rearview mirror and is relatively hidden. The video quality is as expected and I have not had any issues with reliability. The app does suck, but all dash cam apps do. I don't mind popping out the SIM card if I want to pull footage. I was a little surprised to find that the only power cord other than the hardwire kit is for a 12v cigarette lighter. I wanted to plug it into a USB. I worked around this with a 12v to USB-A adapter on Amazon.
Wow. After finally figuring out both of the applications required to use this system, I finally got things up and running properly. There is no way to use this without both of the applications. As far as the camera system is concerned, it’s awesome. Video is crystal clear. Even at night. The rear camera is just as good as the front camera. The actual installation is easy. No difficulty at all. I had a Garmin DC57 before this, and it doesn’t even compare. Just be patient the first few times trying to get everything synced up and online. It’s well worth the time and effort. If you want the peace of mind that comes with a dependable drive recording system, this can’t be beat for the money.
Update firmware manually. When I first purchased this, I was beyond pissed because I couldn't get my phone to pair to the camera. Spent over 3 hours in my car trying to pair. Updated firmware to the latest version via SD card. Worked flawlessly and zero connection problems. Camera quality is very good even in somewhat lower lighting. Good features on the app for setting up power saving/record triggering as well. My only complaint is that I'd rather it not speak to me every single time I start my car. A simple beep or tone to let me know it's recording would be nicer.
Good quality for a good price. Personally, I feel a lot safer driving now that I have this dash cam. As too many people can attest to, it seems like no matter where you go the drivers are just absolutely out of their minds. Knowing I have video proof that should I get into an accident, it wasn't my fault, or that if at some time I get into a hit-and-run, I'll have the offender's plates! Directly wiring this into my car was easy, connecting by the app was simple, and I feel better knowing the status of my car each time I get in the vehicle.
Terrible interface. I have to unplug my CarPlay adapter to get this cam to communicate. Tried to download several videos tonight and despite the app saying they downloaded, they were not in my Gallery. Tried to remove the memory card and it wound up breaking, now I can't get a card in or out. Hopefully TW will make it right or $250 down the drain. Good video quality but typical junk user experience as common with most dash cams. Very clunky, poorly developed firmware and phone apps. Very disappointed for a dash cam at this price point. I only expect two things from a dash cam... 1: record 2: download. Shouldn't be that difficult in 2023.
DO NOT BUY THINKWARE. Terrible app and even worse product. I went in to the app to find footage one day and noticed the timestamps were all over the place. Some were dated year 2084 and beyond. I've come to realize, the unit cannot keep time and everytime the dashcam is booted, the date and time changes to some date way into the future. This is makes it very difficult to find the correct footage based on date and time. I emailed customer support and jumped through all the hoops as they wanted and in the end all they can say is that they've tried everything they could and I'm SOL because the warranty expired a few months ago. DO NOT PURCHASE.
Great Value. It was easy to install. Works as described. Not my first Thinkware product. Recommend this item.
Not Worth the price. This is an addition to the thinkware cam I put in my work Van that one is a Q800Pro. That one uses one app to see it remotely or while you're in the vehicle. This one Q1000 uses two apps. One app to be able to see it when you're in the vehicle and another app to see it remotely. And both apps are like okay. The app for the q800 Pro is so much better. So now I have to have three apps on my phone so I can see the one in my work van and the one in my personal car. Why wouldn't Think ware use one app for all their cameras. Not impressed with the Q1000 camera I got...
EDIT: Contacted support re: software not working on Pixel 6 Pro. They sent a beta version of the app that works. Upgrading to 5 stars.----Pros:- Decent image, night mode recording is fairly clear- Easy to install, looks sleek- Does not obstruct the view by muchCons:- Worst software ever. Dash Cam Link software does not work on Android 13 / Pixel phones. It connects to the camera, but the live view features / playback of stored videos does not work.- The PC / Mac Viewers are no longer supported and are deprecated.- Default WIFI password does not work, no way to set a custom WIFI password.
Nice upgrade from f700. Tho..Recently i had to get a backup dashcam for my rental just for peace of mind and tried another brand... Boy, is thinkware control not intuitive at all. Thinkware spent so mich time trying to overdo their software, they forgot typical users dont need all those extra flares. Will not return to thinkware. Too much hassle to get it working right. And, just moved to android auto, these two things cant get along if you need to check your recording. I end up using wired android auto, and it worked nicely again.
Awful product. Quality is a joke. Can barely make out Licence plate on the car ahead when stopped in traffic. Good luck tracking anyone down if they don't stop directly in front of your vehicle before taking off. Even slightly off to the side in bright daylight you can't get someone's plate. I'd argue it's unfit for purpose and false advertising on account of the poor quality and unreliability. This product is horrific to link to and manage with app. It constantly drops link, fails to link, repeats over and over and over “insufficient memory” but won’t let you link to delete videos. Cannot access videos. What is the point in this trash if you can’t access recordings in an event? Awful UI/software. Cannot achieve the most important function. Have to take the memory card out and spend 40mins with support to format the card and manually install firmware on the card to fix the camera.
one thing with this model, it dosn't tell you where there is speed and redlight traffic cameras. other then that its awsome.
Seems like a well built camera, but not able to test yet as it did not come with the 32gb SD card as it was supposed to.
