★★★★★ Good Price, Good Product. I bought this laptop for college, being a freshman I was looking for something affordable that would last. I got the core i5 10th gen and I am absolutely happy with my purchase. I had thought about getting a mac but price wise it was out of range. The pavilion is very smooth and crisp in a way. I use it for online class and I have to run some programs for my science classes. It has NOT let me down. I've been using it for about a month now and it still works like new. The setup took me like 15 minutes when I first got it. The only things that I believe could be a con for some is that the battery will not last a whole day. I start class at around 8:20 am and around 12 pm the battery is dead, there is a battery saver button tho and it usually let's my battery last an extra hour or so. Tablet mode is fun, I don't usually use it so I have no comment on that. Regardless, very good product for the price. Would 100% recommend for college students. I don't think this would be a good choice for gaming tho. (sorry for the stickers!)Edit: it has been almost a year since I bought this laptop. It's very sturdy tho it seems light, I've dropped it a few times and it doesn't have a scratch on it. I take it with me on my backpack (usually besides my tennis racket) again, no dents or scratches. I dropped water on it too a few times, works like new (not saying that it is waterproof, maybe I was lucky) but very strong overall. I've taken a few coding classes that include python, HTML, and CSS and it runs it with no problem. It is very fast, very very fast, personally I keep photos, music, documents and such in an USB which leaves my laptop pretty empty so it could be because of that. Camera is pretty good, gets you through zoom, speakers are good as well. Overall, a year later and I still think this laptop is a 5/5.

★★★★☆ All good except for the mouse. I’ve been buying HP computers for many years. I usually have them custom built, but this time, I took a Prime Day deal that was too good to pass up. Once I got everything set up, the computer is exactly right for me in every way except the built-in mouse. There’s plenty of storage/memory, the touchscreen works well, graphics look sharp, the screen is just the right size, and I love the 360 convertible feature. I don’t use the tablet mode often yet, but it makes watching videos and playing online games easier. It was easy to set up my preferences for what to do when I turn the lid in different directions. The laptop is lightweight and easy to tote around. The power button is on the side, which can be inconvenient. I have unintentionally put my computer in sleep mode a couple of times by picking up the laptop and inadvertently pressing that button. I have changed the setup so that nothing happens when I hit the power button.Now to my one complaint. I’m not a fan of a mouse with no actual buttons for left/right clicking. This laptop has one where you use the lower left or right corner of the built-in mouse, and it doesn’t always seem to work quite right. When a portion of text is highlighted, for example, you should be able to left-click to “un-highlight” it, but I find I have to click 2 or 3 times. The mouse surface is ultra-sensitive and causes the cursor to jump around and/or highlight portions of the screen when I feel like I haven’t done anything but blink. I’ll think I have the cursor placed where I want it, I start typing, but my text goes in a completely different part of the document. I’m guessing I’ll get used to it and figure out how to work with it, but it’s really driving me crazy at the moment. (I’ve been using the computer for a week.) I know I’ve spent a lot of time complaining about one feature, but it’s an important one. And yes, I can use an external mouse, but that makes the laptop less portable.Overall, I’m pretty happy with the laptop, especially since I got such a good deal on it. I’m hoping to get used to the mouse.

Great computer, has lasted a long time, is super durable (I've had it in my backpack for a couple of years and take it everywhere, so it gets thrown around a fair amount, my backpack isn't waterproof nor does it have as much padding as I'd like for the laptop holder, but it's gotten soaked several times and slammed around for years), honestly I'm shocked it still works (I definitely thought it would have water damage or be glitchy, but it's still kicking), love the touch screen, and being able to fold the screen back which is great for watching videos, pretty great for multi tasking. Only complaint is the battery life isn't that great, but honestly no laptops battery lasts nearly long enough and most I've had died faster (when new and after awhile needed to be plugged in almost constantly). This is my longest lasting laptop

These are modified devices. There was no way for me to know this based on how this product page is set up. ★☆☆☆☆ I expected more but got what I payed for. I've gotten laptops that were around this price but way more functional than this. I feel like I have an android tablet with keyboards. There needs to be a lot of updates to make this laptop usable.The first thing the stood out to me is the space, I understand that you can put an SD card but why? Shouldn't every functional laptop come with enough space? I've seen phones with more space than this chromebook.Secondly, like I said before it feels like a tablet with a keyboard because you can only download "apps" from the Google play store. Why apps? This just seems so cheesy to me because it gives me mobile phone vibes. It turns me off from wanting to use it.Thirdly, you can't download game files directly from the web for steam, origin etc. You have to allow use of this third-party Linux (beta) files, do some coding crap, and transfer to files over to Linux. And when you do this, you're only left with about 5GB - 7GB of space on the entire chromebook, which makes no sense because now your steam has no purpose because you're unable to download the games due to low storage space.Lastly, you have to use the mobile versions of Microsoft Word, excel, PowerPoint etc. You know the things just about every laptop brand should allow you to get.Long story short, if you are getting this for you kids, cool. They can download apps, play games and watch YouTube. However, if you are an adult and you're using this for more purposes other than research for college. It's pretty useless. I honestly want to return it but I got whatbI payed for. I will honestly not recommend this to anyone else. My review may be harsh but I don't want anyone to experience the disappointment I've felt while purchasing my very first laptop.

If you find this out after you set everything up and there is no problem with the computer itself, you're stuck with it. The other issue I had was the inability to exit Win 11 S mode. After hours of trying the standard method and several youtube videos with complex work arounds, I gave up. Today I decided to express my feelings in the MS Edge search window and I received this response from Copilot. (posted in the picture above). I post because subsequent requests produced different results. This work around worked quickly and was a three step fix. Have exited S mode and am happily running Google Chrome. Plus all my Google info and files from my broken laptop ported over. One last note: this is definitely a computer for students. It is priced reasonably considering post Covid greedflation prices. It is comparetively slow and not for use use for gamers. I will keep it as I need a computer for research and writing papers.5/30/2024-My laptop broke. Needed to complete paperwork for a project with tight time lured by "Deal" for laptop with 4GB ram 64 storage Bluetooth, Wi-Fi. $169, 12hr delivery. I figure it was good enough to get my work done. At the site several other options were available with the same features and more memory. All had delivery dates of 1=2 days except 1 with 8GB ram, 192GB storage for $259 w/ $40 coupon, Thought extra memory and storage was worth extra $90. Computer arrived. It took an 1-1/2 hr to do updates. When I tried to download Chrome to work in Google docs {state recommended for changes}. This computer is locked into MS S mode blocking download of apps not in MS store. After spending 2hrs trying different S mode exit directions is was resolved to doing the work on my Samsung S20 which took 3 hours to do 1 hr of work. This computer doesn't have Bluetooth, is extremely slow. MS locks y into using Edge in a worse case scenario than they did with Explorer 25 yrs ago. Don't be lured by the free1yr of Home 365. Cannot return because I used it and is technically not broken. HP is obviously returning to the days of cheap low-grade Compaq. Clearest example of Greedflation. It also moved data from broken laptop creating what will be hours of scrubbing to sell at 1/2 price on Ebay.

The initial storage room for this laptop is not huge; however, it comes with an SD card! That was a nice bonus. I don't really use the mouse tracking pad, but it hooks up to my USB mouse just fine! Overall I think this is a good laptop for the price, but do your research to make sure this is what you are looking for. ★★★★★ Great Laptop for my wife's crafts. My wife is starting to use devices like the cricut, and wants to expand more to devices like the glowforge. This laptop was great for these devices and programs that are needed. Minor things that would need to be upgraded like the hard drive, but overall, it is a great laptop for the price. My wife doesn't have any complaints so far. Only thing to note. Microsoft is trying to get you to use their internet browser, Microsoft Edge, and if you have stuff on chrome, it will not allow you to install it unless you switch out of S mode. Go to settings on your PC > System > Activation. and the option will be there. Click this little button that I couldn't see, but my wife found it. after you click the box, it will allow you to install chrome as usual. Unless you want to try Microsoft Edge, which works great, but I have all my stuff on chrome, and like Garth Algar from Wayne's World, I fear change.

★★★★★ Great computer. This is my second time buying this computer. I dropped the first one on its head and broke it in half. It was my fault and not an issue with the computer itself. If you drop it from a table height when it is open, it WILL Break. I went looking for a new one and found this one at a great price. The pink caught my eye and is pretty in person. Great size and weight for taking to work. A few things to note: in certain light, the keys are hard to see. I solved this by adding a silicone key cover and it worked beautifully. Secondly, computer this does not come with a SD card slot. I didn't know that when I bought it (again my fault) it was an easy solve and definitely cheaper than my broken that came with a SD card slot.

★★★★☆ S Mode. This laptop comes in something called S Mode. The specs on Amazon did not say this. Basically what that means is you are unable to download anything that is not in the Microsoft store. Nothing, not even Google Chrome. So after hours of research I was able to jailbreak the thing. Theres a button in settings to click to turn S Mode off, but conveniently that button does not work. It says something along the lines of unable to turn off S Mode, try again later. After watching numerous YouTube videos I was able to turn it off by disabling safe boot. The laptop itself came on time and packaged safely and works well.

★☆☆☆☆ Do not buy the pink version. High contrast is an element that's important for working efficiently on your computer while not straining to see. The best contrast on your keyboard is a black background on the keys, with white characters, or arguably, vice-versa. With high contrast, we easily see the keys we need and can work painlessly.I bought this computer in the pink color as that was the only one available for next-day shipping. I'd never owned a computer in anything but black/white/gray, so it didn't even occur to me that the contrast could be a problem with this model. Surely you can trust the computer companies to take care of things like this, right? It's such a simple thing, and so easy and cheap to take care of. Make the characters darker, or the keys lighter, or to be sure, do both!Wrong. This pink nightmare is as low-contrast as you get. Mauve keys are matched with gray letters, numbers, and symbols. When you sit up straight to type, the right side of the keyboard virtually vanishes. It's almost impossible to type when the keys seem blank. If you stick your face right above the keys, and sit hunched over, it's fine - you can see all the keys. That's not a good way to type!After chatting at length with hp, it came down to it's my problem and I'll have to buy a new skin for the keyboard. Anyone with one brain cell would be able to see the problems with this keyboard, but instead of fixing it, they shove the problem off onto consumers who were foolish enough to buy an HP product. Great customer service, HP!I bought this computer as a temporary laptop to use as my other computer is dying. I need something to use while I research what to get for my next, more powerful, computer. HP could have gained a new, loyal customer. At first, they were ok, but within a couple of weeks they became VERY slow and would crash if you had more than one software application running. They were basically unusable. Unfortunately, we had spent a lot of time installing software on them so I really didn't want to return them if I could help it. I decided to try an upgrade to the memory before I sent them back. I ordered actual HP branded 32 GB DDR4 So-DIMM memory sticks and sure enough they now are working just fine. The laptops are "upgraded" when you buy them to 16GB using "ADATA" branded memory and of course that memory's warranty is void if you remove it. So I'm out the cost of the new memory but at least I have functional computers.I rated this a 3, the computer is a decent computer, but the upgraded memory for me was a big miss.

However after about 9 weeks of only using for school work it started lagging. I would move the cursor and it would lag or go into a different direction. I thought maybe I just needed to wipe off my pad. However 3 days later as I’m in class the screen went black!! So, I restarted it and again it went black. I turned this thing off 4 times and it just kept going black. But, then after trying to mess around in the setting to factory reset the screen went black and then it kept flashing. I went to the IT guy at my campus and he told me there is nothing that can be done that my drive is shot to get an exchange. Well, news flash to me this ONLY HAS A 30 DAY WARRANTY!!! How can it only be 30 days?!! That should show up before you make your purchase like a separate screen to verify you only have a 30 day warranty!! So, now I’m without 230$ and a laptop for school. This is coming from a single mother of 4 in nursing school that is not working much hours because of school. So, I’m SOL!! I hope this manufacture is happy they rip people off.

★★★☆☆ Keyboard Goes Wacky. For the most part it's a good computer. Not super fast, which isn't a problem for me, but if you are looking for speed, this isn't the computer for you. The only real issue I have is that the keyboard will randomly decide to act like you are using the shift button, which you can get around by using Caps Lock to lowercase the letters, but nothing works for punctuation, so if you need a period, you're out of luck. Sometimes it works itself out on its own after a couple of minutes, but most of the time I have to restart it to reset it.

So I began looking for a good budget laptop that I can use for work and other personal things while I travel (don't get any ideas, I mean travel and stay with my folks for an extended period of time). This laptop works quite nicely.Everything works above average. I'm not sure about heavy editing with video, music, and like Photoshop, but for the basic purposes of getting work done reading email, using Office 365, and so on it works great. My desktop handles the heavy stuff (yes, actually I hate laptops).I like the size (15") - easy to carry around. Was a little hesitant about Windows 11 but it turns out pretty similar to 10 (hey - it took me a few years to evolve from DOS to Windows...). It's not touch screen, but that's okay b/c I'm not used to touch screen. It has a separate number pad - bit plus to me entering a lot of numbers. Enough USB ports, etc. and even a USB-C. I like it. It has an SSD which is GREAT. I replaced my desktop HDD with SDD and the time to boot went from about 4 minutes and 40 seconds to about 40 seconds...bit plus there! If you get a laptop, make double-sure it has SDD. Never mind about storage space b/c everything is in the cloud these days anyway.Happy with the purchase! Why didn't I give it a score of 5? I dunno, don't believe anything is the BEST or LEAST I suppose...

★★★★★ This is an awesome laptop for simple no frills home use. My only true complaint are the keys, the letters are hard to see if you are not working under good bright light. Someone mentioned that the keys are loud. Granted they are not like my laptop at work that makes no sound, but they don't sound like a clumpy typewriter or cheap keyboard. I have never been able to quite figure out how to multitask an a laptop, but this one almost does it for you, and I absolutely love that. I also love that it connected to my phone with no hiccups whatsoever. I can be video chatting on my laptop, have a message come through on the phone and answer the message on the laptop and never skip a beat. I also enjoy that without being touchscreen, it has and can download apps without feeling like a laptop. This is a good fast computer for the price. I would recommend it highly to anyone that is not super high-tech ( not sure if it's a gaming laptop) and looking for a nice home laptop

★★★★★ Works great for home use. My old HP laptop died (after12 years) - it was an i-5 that I used when working from home. So, after retiring and some research, I decided I didn’t need a lot of hard drive nor speed so I “settled” for this laptop.I was wrong. This new one with double the ram I had is faster and works very well for what I use it for. Most things I do are internet based (google docs/sheets rather than Word or Excel), etc so this is just right for me.Easy to get set up , Windows 11 is great just a bit different. I’m 76 and had no issues in getting it set up and running !!

★☆☆☆☆ Do not buy. I was sold a laptop with a bad motherboard and Amazon & HP have been useless in resolving my issue. Go to a store. That way if you have any issues you can talk to someone. Trying to resolve this issue through chats and a support desk has been abysmal! A waste of money and I now have to spend another $400 on another laptop. Very disappointed and just straight pissed! Do not buy unless you want weeks of misery and losing all your data!

I purchased this laptop with the 64GB hard drive for everyday web browsing, small Microsoft Office projects, and light streaming such as Netflix and Paramount as I haven’t had a PC in more than a few years and have been using my iPhone for everything and it’s nice to have a full keyboard to type and rest your wrists on.Straight out of the box this laptop was extremely slow which I expected taking the price into consideration — I was able to get everything set up in a reasonable amount of time and once I was finished with the initial set up I removed any unnecessary apps on it with one of the preinstalled apps I uninstalled being McFee Security which helped tremendously. (I feel with most budget computers you can run Windows Defender at minimum and get away with that without having the constant scans of third party security systems that slows the PC down in general.)The computer was shipped in the original box and arrived on time and in excellent/like new condition. It did need to be charged before I was able to begin the setup process. The keyboard feels nice. Display/Screen is nice. Multiple USB ports, external card slots.All in all, I am satisfied with my purchase and it meets my needs for the moment and if I decide it no longer does I am able to send it back for a refund.Great buy for the light laptop user!

★☆☆☆☆ Absolute garbage. I purchased this computer in Dec but gave it as a birthday gift in February and am livid that I have no option to return it for refund. The slowest most non responsive computer I have ever encountered. It was purchased for my husband to basically just check his emails, pay some online bills and watch youtube videos and that is apparently asking to much of this unit. Wont load video's ...times out before reaching any websites..... task manager shows CPU at 100% constantly. Did a full factory restore and that didnt help...still basically a waste of my money. Very disappointed.

Le instale el Windows x-lite y ahora nada se traba, abre muy rapido el navegador, el correo, escribe sin trabarse hasta le pude instalar Autocad LT para hacer mis planos desde mi cama y trabajo muy rapido, es impreionante, con solo cambiarle el Windows libero mucho espacio de la memoria RAM y ahora puedo llevarla para trabajar cuando salgo a paseos largos. Ahora estoy muy feliz por la compra, al principio como se me traba mucho casi la boto a la basura pero despues de investigar encontre la solución.

★★★★★ Easier To Utilize for Multiple Functions Than I Thought However. I admit that my loving husband purchased this Lenovo IdealPad 1 14 Laptop computer to show his support towards my long term navy career ambitions. Some of the professional requirements that relate to my navy reserve goals require a computer equipped with a working cac card reader that will enable me to access certain online navy related sites for professional courses and other military related online training requirements. The good news: I was able to at least test drive going to at least the front page of certain navy related sites easier than I thought it would be. Additionally, I was able to get into establishing a new hotmail account, signing into one of my gmail accounts and easily signing into the amazon account (that is connected to the review I am writing this on). The caveats: patience is necessary with this type of computer because I had noticed already logging on to some of the websites required some time. Additionally, both my husband and I realized that I am obviously going to have to both eventually browse around and inquire both online and offline for help towards permanently installing the software necessary to access a multiple number of the required online navy sites with the cac card reader I already bought (for training and other requirements mandatory for my navy reserve career). Aside from those caveats, I truly feel lucky that my sweet husband surprised me with this laptop gift and I obviously intend to utilize this computer for multiple months to come.

★★★☆☆ Be Wary, Almost no Storage Space. Buying a USB along with this computer is borderline mandatory. Yes, it says 64, but in actuality you'll have maybe 15 gb to work with on internal storage. As for performance, it runs like a 150 dollar computer; not anything special, but I can watch Youtube in 720p without buffering. Sound quality isn't very good, though.In all seriousness, this is not good enough to be a "primary-use" laptop. However, keeping the price in mind, it could be something you travel with or maybe a student could use it as a sort of school computer.

★☆☆☆☆ Permanently locked into S mode makes it unusable. DO NOT BUY. S mode is installed and it WILL NOT let you get out of it. That means you won't be able to download Chrome, Firefox, or any other software that isn't Microsoft. I called Lenovo for technical support and they told me they'd have to charge me extra to fix it because it was a software issue. This was a brand new computer, not refurbished, and I can't use it at all.
