Build 10052 doesn’t bring any new features to your phone, instead comes with updates that addresses known issues in previous build and tries to make it more usable for day to day usage by bringing improvements.

The following are the things which were fixed in this update:

  • Support to enable “Flight mode“.
  • Ability to disable data connections.
  • Some bugs connecting to phone’s MMS settings which resulted in loss of configuration data were fixed.
  • Issue in downloading the keyboards for additional languages has been fixed.
  • Viewfinder issue in the Camera app in devices like the Lumia 1020 has been fixed.

A glitch in the previous build 10051 and Windows Phone 8.1 recovery software caused few of Lumia 520 phones to stop working which made Microsoft to halt distribution of Build 10051 to its Lumia 500 series phones. Microsoft has now addressed the issue of bricking in Build 10052 and has resumed the Windows 10 Technical Preview update to all Lumia 520 users.

Confirming on this, Gabe Aul of Windows 10 team said,

We received reports of failures on a small number of Lumia 520 devices from Windows Insiders at the end of last week when trying to roll back to Windows Phone 8.1 using the Windows Phone Reset Tool. We quickly paused build availability for these devices to investigate the issue. The issue causing these failures was the way in which the Windows Phone Reset Tool was re-flashing these devices. We’ve released an update to the Windows Phone Reset Tool that should get those impacted by the issue up and running.  With this issue resolved, we’re resuming offering builds today for folks on Lumia 520 devices as well.
