I just noticed that in India and a few other countries, if you search for a simple term like kamasutra , Microsoft’s Search Decision Engine Bing.com will throw up the following:

THE SEARCH KAMASUTRA MAY RETURN SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONTENT. To get results, change your search terms.

bing kamasutra

If you want to check it out, change your country to India, clear cache, open Bing.com and search for these words.

There is also no ‘safe search’ option where one can toggle on or off this forced censorship. Google moreover has no such censorship.

However, if one were to change the country to say US, Bing throws up several results with Wikipedia on top!

I know of no Indian government directives or of anyone trying to play the moral police.

So, may we know why the land that gave Kamasutra, cannot Bing for Kamasutra !?

Common Microsoft, lets not have these double standards and be so prudish!Happy
